I liked the porch pirate joke. I watch way too many Reddit videos about them

It’s 7:23! We wouldn’t even be kicking off until 8 back in the day. Uh… convert that to central time yourself

Now that the awards have started, I suddenly realize that I'd much rather watch 3 hours of Conan.

What a shock, I genuinely expected The Wild Robot to win. Congrats Flow.

Good for them. Would have never guessed that Disney’s stranglehold would be reduced to this degree.

The shorts remain absolutely impossible to predict. Less surprised about Flow - the international voting block has gotten really influential in the last few years.

The winning animated short was in last place in the Gold Derby predictions. This could be an interesting night

Animated Short with one of the most awkward acceptance speeches in recent memory. Why did he need to start over?!

There was a documentary short acceptance speech maybe 8-10 years ago where one of the producers took swipes at the other, who was at the podium with them

I think Wild Robot and Inside Out 2 split a lot of voters

Estonia actually has a relatively robust state-sponsored film sector and has submitted a number of animated shorts that should have been nominated

that Estonia joke was immortal from Conan. he's on track for an all time best hosting performance

Really hoping they don’t continue this trend of the nominee intros taking 900 years. I thought you were supposed to keep it snappy, Conan?!

I’m glad it’s running so slow. This is fun.

Also it’s so distracting to have Ron Swanson as the announcer.

Really amazing stuff, putting Elphaba in a black witch costume and Glinda in a pink dress.
