It was on Hulu (where Disney’s more adult and non-franchise stuff lives in the US) a couple of years ago but not any longer. The color version is still there.

Here's one we might have missed from December 2022:
Letterboxd staff members in the closet.

Kerry Condon in the closet. Haven't we all had Martin McDonagh incessantly going on about how good The Night of the Hunter is at some point?

Cherish (2002) in 4K would kill me, probably, so we know that's never happening.
The DVD, however, is still about $5 for a sealed copy, FWIW.

Catherine Breillat visited the closet:

This is certainly one of the most heartwarming closet visits.

First time I ever noticed this thread. Looks like pages and pages of links to closet picks! Guess it answers my curiosity as to whom that CC set is being marketed toward...

They used to have a more active social media presence, but now this is all they do. Not sure why the snark is warranted.

Also the closet visits, at least at the start, tended to be related to things Criterion was working on.

which fit right in with the newsletter clues and random screenshots on social media. they do absolutely none of this now, and Janus acquisitions are the slightest smidgen of "hint" we get now, though we can of course wait on stuff like Eustache forever
I enjoy the closet picks, though I think creating a boxset based on them or having it be the only thing on their social media is silly. that said, I enjoyed this video quite a bit - would love to know Channing Tatum's thoughts on Kiarostami, as I enjoyed his comments (especially on that incredible scene in
The Fisher King)

I can't even remember the last time Becker or Turell or Lee Kline or any producers did any interviews. I had expected something this year because of the 40th anniversary of the company or even something after they sold Criterion and Janus, but nope. Pretty much radio silence.
I get that social media sucks, but they really should figure out some new way to tease upcoming stuff in the newsletter (I dont even bother to open these now.)

A very minor development, but Criterion's YouTube page is now called "CRITERION" (capitals included). It used to be "criterioncollection."
Maybe their other social media platforms will follow suit.

As always, I hope this is for something and not just another nothing.

The People vs. Larry Flynt in 4K would be incredible

Yes, but I was more thinking about how a few years ago Neil McGlone, who does research for Criterion,
replied to
a Larry Karaszewski tweet about
Taking Off indicating that it was possibly getting released.
