Nope. I suspect Black Book, though the possibility of Soldier of Orange makes that unlikely. Red Psalm seems another possibility.

I don't usually comment on conjecture but these are baaaad guesses. None of these films appear on even half of the ballots

I'm just going off of the unlikely and country reveals the name hints. Pretty much everything else of mine doesn't fit both or is even more unlikely.

Yeah, I'm just pulling from films on my list that might be obvious choices if the country were revealed. And I'm out of guesses. Maybe it was a bad clue!

Maybe it was just obvious to me. Let's try this again

I know how to get to the bottom of this. Everyone send me your lists...

Could the country be Macedonia?

No, it has to be something that domino considers obvious from either France, Italy, Russia, the UK, or Hungary, my guess being one of those first three.

Hmm, I understood it to mean naming the country would give away the movie, as in that country doesn't have too many war films that could be considered contenders. If it is, say, France, there are probably about a dozen movies that could feasibly be a front runner.

Presumably, but it's also a film on all of our lists, which means that it's on my list, so it has to be one of the countries I've mentioned. I suppose
Went the Day Well? is a possibility, though is that more obvious than
Colonel Blimp?

It's not Italian. I also had Polish, Czech and Romanian titles, but I'm assuming they weren't widely shared!
Went the Day Well is a good guess, except I wouldn't have thought it passed the obviousness test.

In all seriousness, Rome, Open City and The Red and the White seem like good guesses that haven't been mentioned yet.

Since I didn't participate in this project as much as I'd have liked, my list ended up consisting of a bunch of Criterion titles, some big name mainstream releases, and Went the Day Well. My money is on the latter.

Unfortunately I'm in the exact same boat as you and my guess is Went the Day Well? too.

Ten lists in (including mine) and our unanimous leader is unanimous no more not only thanks to me. But at least we've bested the record low participation of the first round of Musicals. Still plenty of time to submit a list, even if you haven't been participating in the discussion!

At 15 lists so far, the War List has achieved a surprise sneak victory in terms of participation. I, uh, thought lists were due today, but they're due tomorrow, so plenty of time to still cobble together a list and add your name to the glorious few

I'm finalising my list at the moment. Based on my contributions, it should be no surprise as being very British oriented. There are currently four Jennings on the list at the moment (including 2 in the top 5) ...
