Oliver Stone on Facebook:
"I’m pleased to announce the 4K releases of two of my more recent films, “Snowden” (2016) and “Savages” (2012), from the always-reliable Shout! Factory, which has taken care of all my films (with the exception of “Platoon,” for which, I’m told, a redo of their last version is in the works, as it was poorly produced – apologies!)."
Talk Radio wasn’t handled by Shout, correct? I thought Twilight Time’s was the only Blu-Ray release. That deserves a 4K more than his more recent fare, although I really do admire what
Snowden attempted

Kino announced a remastered bd of Talk Radio ages ago but nothing has come of it.

I'd expect
Talk Radio (Universal),
Heaven and Earth (Warner) and
U-Turn (Sony), all Twilight Time BD titles, to be licensed by Shout for UHD eventually. I bet they get
Any Given Sunday (Warner), too, and upgrade their BD of
The Hand (Warner).
This would get all his directed films released by Shout aside from the Lionsgate and Disney owned ones (
Seizure,
The Doors,
Wall Street,
Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps,
Nixon,
W.)

I would wager Stone will thwart this deal and have Kino trade it for another title so he can have Shout release it.

That's what I'm guessing will happen as well.

I’d love to see the deleted scenes from Heaven & Earth they have appeared on all previous releases get a fresh scan and even integrated into an alternate cut of it. Like Platoon, it was changed quite a bit in post-production

I don't think anyone's mentioned it, but Regal Cinemas will have limited screenings of Shout's 4K restorations of HK Classics in 2026.
Here's the

A Better Tomorrow (1986) 3/1, 3/2, 3/4

Hail Caesar confirmed for March in the Shout Select line. I was getting worried that it might have gotten cancelled. The other 4k titles are Outbreak, The Devil's Advocate and The Swordsman Trilogy plus the usual horrid steelbook reissues.
EDIT: Looked more closely at the Swordsman specs. Only the first film is on a UHD, the other two are BDs.

Absolutely ridiculous that the other two films are Blu-ray only. God, Shout sucks.

Unlike A Chinese Ghost Story box set, the other two films from this set seem to be from unrestored sources, lacking the description "scanned from original negatives" and all. This is a set really hastily put together.

Since Arrow are aware of the missing nighttime filters from A Chinese Ghost Story and Shout doesn't appear to mind other labels addressing issues like this, I wonder if Arrow would restore Swordsman II and the spinoff film themselves. On the festival cut of Bullet in the Head, Shout seem to have attempted combining the 4k footage of the theatrical cut with the lower resolution footage of the festival cut from HKFA and mucked up in the process. dwk linked to the errors made above. Someone suggested Arrow should just use the HKFA file as is, burned in subs and all. We'll know for sure when Arrow's specs for the ACGS trilogy hits how much they have been allowed to fix and in what form it gets released. The first film at least could be a UHD. 4k in house restorations of 2 and 3 is probably too much to hope for. I'll take the restored nighttime filters and good subs though if that ends up being "all there is".

Bizarre choice to only do the first one properly since it's number 2 that everyone's buying the set for.

The Haunting (1963) will be released by Shout.
https://www.hometheaterforum.com/commun ... bo.387859/
There is another cut of this film, maybe it could be included on the Shout edition?
"The original cut of movie (shown 24/9/03 at Filmhouse, Edinburgh) has several differences from the general release print -
Alternate opening with voice-over by the Mrs. Sannerson character in place of the Markway monologue. The titles prior to this scene are slightly different. The 'History of Hill House' scene continues into the meeting with Mrs. Sannerson and Markway but in this version, it is Sannerson who is doing most of talking.
The following scene from the general release print of Markway listing his subjects on a blackboard is missing. In its place is a scene where Theo throws her lover out her apartment and, next to a photo of her lover, writes "I Hate You!" on a mirror in lipstick, looks at her reflection and mutters "I hate you too...". She then receives her invitation from Markway. This is delivered to her by her landlady, who requires the excess postage to be paid. Theo already knows this is to be paid and there is humorous exchange concerning her ESP or her 'gift.'
There are several extended scenes involving Eleanor's 'inner thoughts' - most of which tie into her thoughts on her possible relationship with Markway. The scene showing her traveling to Hill house is extended with more 'inner monologue' material including a couple of shots of her turning onto 'Route 238' and commenting on "Journey's end in lovers meeting...".
The Morning/Harp scene runs longer and contains more dialogue from both Eleanor and Markway. This print had a title card prior to the MGM logo - "This print is on loan from the National Film and Television Archive."

Seems likely it's one of the items listed
here then, but there's no indication of which ones have alternate material.

It looks like Shout's April slate consists of:
Four ugly steelbook re-releases
Wolf Children UHD upgrade
Tiger on the Beat 1 & 2 UHD

Couple dumb questions:
What's the difference in Scream and Shout Factory?
All the releases I have seem to have both logos on them.
Is it like Janus and Criterion?
Also: I cant seem to find a webpage that has a list of all the Scream/Shout releases?
Anyone have a link to one?

Aren't they just trying to signal scares for sale to the horror crowd?
