First post updated, with About Dry Grasses, Stars at Noon, Hit the Road, and After Yang new to older years.

Next update will be after Oscar night on March 2. This will be the year-end update, at which time I will be doing the following:

1. No longer counting 2024 lists of less than 10, and only partially counting lists of 10 that haven't been updated recently. If you haven't edited your list since at least the last Friday of October and you want it to count as is, then you will need to add a note to your post that indicates this. Lists that I stop counting at year-end can be counted again later if they're subsequently edited to constitute a qualifying top 10.

2. Deleting empty place-holder posts in the 2024 thread that were never updated. These people are free to contribute a list at some point in the future, but they will lose their spot earlier on in the thread.

3. "Freezing" the results for years 2024 and prior (i.e. any changes during 2025 will be shown as changes from that point in time)

First post updated, with Black Dog new to 2024. Also, In die Sonne schauen [Sound of Falling] is the #2 film of 2025 if I count only #1 placements, but it was just kicked out of the top 25 counting all top 10 placements

This kind of thing is inevitable in a large forum where x percentage of participants have seen y number of films, x/2 has seen 3y, x/4 has seen 5y, and x/10 has seen 20y. The films the smallest percentage have seen have an advantage if top tens are counted equally.

Another way of "counting" would be to have everyone score the films they've seen and take some kind of average after a certain minimum number of scores. In that case, the Schilinski movie would obviously be much higher here [though I myself would've scored it relatively low. Ha!] Such a method won't always make that much difference, and the lists here usually reflect what seems to be the median forum member's taste, so probably not worth the extra trouble.
