Second announcement is Jack Smight's No Way to Treat a Lady
A completely forgettable movie despite Rod Steiger’s feverish overacting. I’m not sure I’ve even thought of it once in the decade since I saw it

In much better news, A Place in the Sun is the third announcement!

Excellent! Long in speculation as forthcoming from Criterion, but then they put their big George Stevens extras on Woman of the Year so who knows

The second-worst movie Hollywood ever made about Hollywood (though it held the top title until only quite recently with Trumbo’s usurpation)

Wonder if they’ll announce the spin-off (of sorts), Nevada Smith, which is also Paramount

Audio commentary from Sidney Lumet ... I wonder why Paramount never put this on their original DVD.

Oh, it’s up (down) there. But this is worse, if you can believe it!

They did, at least if you're referring to the US DVD release.

Hopefully another label can source a better print or invest in a restoration.

I understand if this is somewhat out of their hands, but have there been any reports yet of a good transfer from this label?

I'm wondering who in the UK will have The War of the Worlds, as it looks like an incredible restoration and it's likely we can narrow it down to labels currently licensing from Paramount (Eureka, Indicator, Arrow). I also hope we see The Duellists too, and if the master is any good, A Place in the Sun too.
Imprint are doing some good work, it seems, but presumably some of these transfers would have been skipped by other labels due to the quality of the available master (e.g. Sorry Wrong Number). If I were importing, I'd be waiting for a review each time one of these Paramount titles was released.
PS: I know they're not released by Via Vision, but I'd also mention The Tenant and Invasion of the Body Snatchers as two more recent examples of decent Paramount transfers recently released in Australia that have yet to make it over here...I suppose it's only a matter of time, and I look forward to them!

The screenshots aren't great, but I imagine this might look reasonable in motion. Anyone actually watched it first hand?

From what I saw, it reminds me of Criterion's Madame de. It's so smooth it's smeary, and with a crappy encode that can't handle this properly, you get banding everywhere on top of it. it's so bad at times you'd be excused thinking it's not even sourced from a HD master.
