If that is indeed true I would imagine he has a snowballs chance in hell of having it occur given said stars beliefs. What I want to know really, is if the script really is that bad.

I dunno how you can fuck up this material that badly (and Gerwig's track record has been so strong I can't imagine her completely whiffing with this, of all things), so I'm just going to assume this person got their wires crossed and heard the script gossip about the Pure Flix Little Women.

Very glad I've given everyone here the same brain worms that make me check blind items near-daily. Should've gotten your shots

In spite of the garbage script, Bob Odenkirk has joined the cast

I'd be shocked if the auteur behind Let's Go to Prison let script problems deter him

Do we know if this is going to be a period adaptation or will be sent in current day? Missed that if it's already been touched upon somewhere, I think I'd find the latter more compelling.

Those who've read the script say it's set in the original period of the novel

This is filming now, and apparently Ed Lachman is the DP.

My wife was volunteering at the Arnold Arboretum here in Boston when they filmed a bit of this. Even gravel covering the paths would seem to be insufficient to make the Arboretum look like the Tuileries Garden, however. (They had to come back to remove all the gravel the day after the shoot).

The dialogue seems a little on-the-nose, but that could be a trailer problem. The direction looks excellent, though, and very distinct from Lady Bird’s.

Not that this is a surprise, since Gerwig got Olivier Assayas' DP for this, but this looks gorgeous. The blue of the skies in the beach shots is unbelievable.

Pretty close to my favorite MPAA rating explanation ever: the Remains of the Day, which was rated PG for “Themes”

First reactions are stressing that it's a pretty unorthodox adaptation, with a scrambled timeline. David Jenkins (not usually prone to hyperbole of this kind) called it "One of the most pleasurable cinema experiences of my life" and compared it to both Meet Me in St. Louis and the French New Wave.

I love Nick Pinkerton's Twitter reply to that, reading merely "Gross."
