I almost certain that it's not from "The River", atleast then it's from a scene I don't recall, also it doesn't look like Technicolor. If you look and the pillars in the background, it looks like the flag from either Mexico or Iran.

Here's the trailer (bigger sizes available) for Darjeeling Limited. The women in their costumes are in the scene at around the 23 second mark, where Owen says "This is incredible".

Iran and Mexico use more of a red...it's definitely the more orange color of India's flag.mikkelmark wrote:I almost certain that it's not from "The River", atleast then it's from a scene I don't recall, also it doesn't look like Technicolor. & Versus

Note the orange is on top just like the pillars vs. the red on the bottom/far right of Iran/Mexico.

here's the bit from the trailer....definitely a different scene, but the colors of the clothing certainly look right...

Mexicans and Persians don't wear saris. This alone should eliminate a few conclusions. Plus the writing on the banner is either Hindi or Punjabi.

Not to mention, Wes Anderson is notorious for making public examples of men who show up on set wearing yellow pants.

There is no banner in the picture posted and no Caucasians, and they are not Mexican.Cinephrenic wrote:Mexicans and Persians don't wear saris. This alone should eliminate a few conclusions. Plus the writing on the banner is either Hindi or Punjabi.

Let's put an end to this blether once and for all. The pillars are in the colours of the Irish flag and the building is Drogheda tram station where there is a big Hindi immigrant population who travel into the centre of Dublin to peddle banana chips and beedies. You can see them most lunchtimes on St Stephen's Green eating their packed lunches.

Re: Criterion and Paramount
Stepping away from Paramount for a second, are they ever going to release any of the WCF titles or are they going to hang it in front of us like a steak to a dog forever? I want Limit released this year damnit.

It'd be awesome to see Criterion release Pixote (such an underated masterpiece), but that's definately not it.perkizitore wrote:Can it be something like El Sur or Pixote?

I can't tell if everyone who still thinks it's anything other than The Darjeeling Limited are joking or not.

There is already a page up on amazon for a Criterion Collection Darjeeling Limited blu-ray. This should settle it, no?I can't tell if everyone who still thinks it's anything other than The Darjeeling Limited are joking or not.
