The titles The Plumber and The Cars that Ate Paris are owned by Janus and were released by HVE years ago. The edition doesn't have very many features aside from a Weir interview for each film and a booklet, but they both have very solid transfers and it's a fairly cheap package. I doubt Criterion is going to put it out, but the one out now is still a solid deal.

Does anyone think Rian Johnson's Brick will get a CC release?

No.

Don't ask for movies that already have fantastic editions again, the answer will always be as above.

I'm also hoping against hope to see The X From Outer Space get an Equinox-like stand-alone edition that probably won't happen.
I've always secretly desired an all-horror month from Criterion. Maybe this year is the year? Hausu and Cronos are both expected releases for this year and they've had rights to all the asian horror you mention for years now....we can dream!

An all-horror month is an amazing idea:

Hausu DVD and BD
Cronos DVD and BD
Antichrist DVD and BD
Videodrome BD reissue
Kwaidan BD reissue
Mothras and Madmen [Japanese Genre Films] Eclipse set

Except for Wings of Desire, Paris Texas, etc... in which case the answer turned out to be yes.

The only good releases of these Wenders' films you mentioned werethe Axiom ones, which are R2 so they don't count.

I diagree with both those points (I think the MGM WoD and the Fox PT were both good, and I also think that R2 does count), but what I was actually trying to get across was that just because a particular film already has a good edition doesn't mean that it's not a possible Criterion acquisition. So, while I agree that Brick is probably not likely, it's not outside the realm of possibility, especially since it has yet to be released on blu-ray, as far as I know.

Plus I thought the guy's tone was a bit dickish.

R2 counts to you, but not to Criterion. Brick is out on blu-ray in the UK, though! :P

I read somewhere that Criterion had to purchase the rights to upwards two dozen Shintoho titles to get 'Jigoku' - the same titles that were released on DVD with English subs in Japan and later in Greece. I have been waiting for a long time for them to release all their Nobuo Nakagawa stuff. Would love to see an Eclipse set of his ghost stories alone.

Hausu? I only see Seven Samurai and Videodrome so far?

I was combining the Amazon listings and the Times confirmation of Hausu, which... they were right about the Sternbergs.

Dave Bowie Love Cam! That and the drunken Kitano scene alone are worth spending outrageous prices on.
Though I hope they go with the original poster instead.

the main Criterion page had "Thin Red Line" icon in the "coming soon" Blu-Ray. That's how I got the above link when I clicked on it.
I suppose that they haven't finished the whole update and removed the page temporarly.
