No. There was some buzz around the discovery of the gore cut caused by a few secret screenings, but I don't think that the PG-13 cut even got a DVD release.

I was reading about each film on Wikipedia but is the Angel Collection supposed to be any good? I never heard of it until now let alone that Anchor Bay had released it back in the day.

Looks like VS are planning 4 UHD releases in 2020.
Something new (it seems) : they're now offering a discounts for international customers on their yearly package if you choose the titles to ship quaterly instead of monthly : $60 for Canada, and $100 for International.
As usual, I'm looking at their sale and keep wondering "I can't just order a few because of these expensive as hell shipping fees, but do I really need Vice Academy 1-3, 9 Lives of a Wet Pussy, and Taking Tiger Mountain ?" I really just want Putney Swope and Decoder.

Here's the Mondo Digital review of Spookies and The Candy Snatchers (and Tammy and the T-Rex, Vice Academy 1-3 and Savage Dawn for good measure).
If you want a taster of Spookies, it got an in depth discussion on Red Letter Media's Best of the Worst show, like Tammy and the T-Rex before it! Witness the "lust crazed muck-men!". See the almost apologetic for the upcoming film seeming animated skull! Is is really "the Justice League of B-schlock horror films" as it is claimed at one point? Or more the "boring Evil Dead" film, as also claimed? Can it be both? From the Best of the Worst video it seems an incoherent film enlivened by lots of practical monsters of varying quality being thrown at the characters. I would probably give it a pass though I might try picking the disc up at some point just for the second disc with "The Vipco Story" documentary on it.

My mistake I was looking at the LE slipcover versions of everything the SE's seem to be where the half price discount is. Which luckily I don't care for the slipcovers for any of the releases.

It's fine when you're interested in 10 titles, but not when it's only 2 or 3 which, as I wrote above, is my case. Past years, I managed to add some additionnal titles to dilute the shipping fees, only to get my shelves filled with relatively bad movies I'll never watch again (as I'm also rather on the losing end with VS). i watched the first film and personally found it awkward. it's about a girl who's supposed to be 15 in high-school but a hooker at night. it focuses more on her life as a hooker and treats her high school life more like a side-story. there's a sleazy cop who takes it upon himself to protect her- but he's somewhat clumsy and creepy. there's also a cowboy who seems to forget all his friends are dead. all this happens around the time they're informed one of their friends (a friend of angel) has been killed.Jean-Luc Garbo wrote: Wed Nov 20, 2019 6:30 pm I was reading about each film on Wikipedia but is the Angel Collection supposed to be any good? imo this film is better as a historic view of hollywood blvd as there are a few scenes shot within now non-existent adult film theaters and just the look of hollywood & highland with minimal tourists.
i don't know if this sounds entertaining to you, but for me, this wasn't worth it. still haven't watched the 2nd and 3rd films and not sure i really care to

When I first saw this "Angel" Trilogy announced, I got excited, thinking it was the Theresa Woo–directed trilogy of "Charlie's Angels" ripoffs starring Moon Lee. i highly recommend the vice academy trilogy. there's somewhere between the early wynorski/olen ray oeuvre and mid-90s playboy skinemax cable films. they're one of those films where when someone gets hit there's a sound effect accompanying the act. you also can't go wrong with a trilogy of films that have ginger lynn and linnea quigley (though the 3rd one has elizabeth kaitan instead of quigley).
they're not the best in the genre (late 80s/early 90s bimbo b-movie) but they have their place in that criterion

Great news about Patty Hearst! I have also seen The Immortalizer (which like Beserk! was released on VHS in the UK in the late 1990s with an introduction by Tom Baker!) It is not great but in its plot of elderly people having their brains transplanted into younger bodies kind of anticipates (the much, much better) Being John Malkovich and Get Out!
