It's a beautiful looking reissue, but it would be a terrible shame if it's a more expensive version of the same miscolored master.

I assume those are just the existing discs with an added soundtrack CD.

And posters and fancy packaging. But yes, if they'd regraded the colours they'd no doubt have said so.

Studio Canal is bringing a Collector's Edition of Hearts of Darkness in 4K UHD... Overkill? Maybe, but they are taking this opportunity to include several shorts by Eleanor Coppola in the bonus disc. Still, if they have to celebrate a making-of documentary, I'd rather they redo A.K. in 4K with some of Marker's remastered shorts thrown in. I'd get that in a heartbeat.

Received my copy. No HDR grading as expected, also no indication whether it is a newer transfer or the same one from 10 years ago. I don't have any previous releases to compare it against. Video bitrate seems to be rather high and hover mostly in the 80s. UHD disc has only the film (with English 2.0 DTS-HD MA track and optional German subtitles), special features are on the standard BD disc, which is region B locked.

And
Hoffman is still very much in print from Indicator (both Region A and Region B).
Might it be a good idea, given StudioCanal's multi-territory operation, if people were to routinely spell out exactly where a release is going to be happening?

Diva will be released in all three SC territories: UK, France and Germany. Interestingly, the UK release appears to have more and completely different extras than the German version, maybe due to clearance issues. Furthermore, if their distributor’s specs are correct, the German edition doesn’t have English subtitles.

The Life of Chuck and Diva 4K Blu-ray preorders are up on Amazon UK with £14.99 price tag. Surely a mispricing, as their 1080p counterparts are a cent higher at £15.

I'm not a fan of these films, but I have to say that's a beautifully designed set which does evoke the sort of hardcover collections you'd see for vintage popular books.

Plaion also announced the German version of the Agatha Christie set and they’re including
Endless Night in 4K as well in addition to Blu-ray’s of all five films, which makes theirs a 10-disc set compared to the UK one. This will not be a shop exclusive and should therefore be available elsewhere too. No mentioning yet of the posters or booklet but based on past editions, if it’s included it’ll be translated into German.

absolutely cursed. ugh. I can't imagine it would be the biggest priority Fox upgrade for Criterion either if they were to start upgrading those
