Claire Denis made the first (Grand Prix) acceptance speech, one so lengthy that the French press began to boo. Then she took the award on the podium, so when Lukas Dhont came up next, there was no prize for him to be photographed with. (Presenter Javier Bardem remedied the situation.)

Though oddly enough he said in his speech, from what I understood, that he expected to have more control as the president and that actually the other members of the jury are responsible for the Palme winner. I take it he didn't love Triangle of Sadness? Although he said that everyone was shocked or something by it, which could be a compliment or a refusal to say any more concrete praise

On a side note, Babylon just finished post-production. Hopefully it will premiere at Venice/Telluride, just like how La La Land and First Man premiered.
