The Shop Around the Corner is available in the TCM Greatest Classic Films Holiday Collection.

As Noiradelic pointed out, the 2-disc Strangers on a Train is still available, and it seems Giant is too. There are two versions of Giant listed at Amazon, one from 2003 and one from 2005. According to Michael's Movie Mayhem, the "Old Version" is not out of print (not sure what the difference is, if any).

I do have to say, though, that Michael's Movie Mayhem is not entirely reliable. They still list several of the OOP Studio Canal/Criterion releases (Grand Illusion, Forbidden Games, etc.) as being in print.

How about some old, but good news. Over at AVManiacs, Cliff Mac from Shout! Factory said that they have licensed some films from Fox, including some of the titles that Anchor Bay had previously licensed. I asked about a couple of titles and he said they picked up Race With the Devil, but they did not get Cemetery Man. (Someone else asked about The Entity and he said no.)

The just released Fantasia/Fantasia 2000 set is going back to the Disney vault at the end of the year along with Pinocchio and Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, according to an email I just received this morning.

Yes. I was as surprised as you that Fantasia/Fantasia 2000 is included given that the availability at stores has been low and that it was just released this past Tuesday. I imagine is going to be in-stock at most places for a while, but apparently the production run was very limited.

It goes without saying, but pick 'em up while you can. The further into cinema I have gone in my life, the more I have recognized how genuinely special those first three Disney full-length features are.

Yeah, the continued deletion of those scenes probably doesn't bode well for the future prospects of a Song of the South release, does it? I don't understand what the problem is with showing it and adding supplemental context and apologies; Leonard Maltin did a fine job of covering some of the racially insensitive bits on a few of the Donald Duck shorts that are on the Treasures series.

No excuses for the censored scene, but what can they do regarding the dubbing? Much of Deems Taylor's original voice track has been lost.

Well, alright, they could have included the voice segments that do survive and just dub in the portions that are missing. But I'd rather have all of those interstitial scenes with some kind of audio then just a handful.

All they had to do was put a disclaimer before the movie like the one Leonard Maltin did for the Disney Treasures sets, and it would've been fine.

I wish this had been available separately from "Fantasia 2000," but what can you do?

Now let's see those 40s stopgap anthology films finally get a proper release (with "Saludos Amigos," "Make Mine Music," and "Melody Time" all finally uncensored).
