Our website is now live! Apologies for the delay everyone, we just needed to make sure everything was right. There are a couple more things to still be ironed out but it is a work in progress and we didn't want to delay any further. If you had an account with our old site then your details have been transferred over and your logins will remain the same.
You will notice that the dates confirmed earlier for new releases have moved again; we are sorry about this but we need to ensure we get all we need for these releases and the time frame was a bit tight. Hoping to announce extras etc soon.
We will also be running a welcome back sale in the next week or so...

Quick note, shipping outside the UK is currently not available but we are working to rectify this ASAP

With all these delays, I hope their Gunfighter will use the 4K restoration that's been done in the meantime !

Unsurprisingly, Nightmare Alley has been delayed until (at least?) October 5th.

Amazon now says 12/28, which is a placeholder for 2021/never.

At some point, it'll look like they're trying to tie the release with the Del Toro remake, which also might never materialise.

Or at least it might not materialise during the lifespan of the presumably non-renewable licence.

Yeah, Base.com just told me Christmas day, which is obviously a nothing date.

Apparently pre-orders of Nightmare Alley through the Signal One/Patriot website have been refunded. A blu-ray.com poster said he received a message from them:

"Due to issues we are having with Fox / Disney, we do not know when or if Nightmare Alley. Let’s Make Love, The Halls of Montzeuma and O’Henry’s Full House will be released, therefore you have been refunded for these items and they will be removed from our site. Sorry for any inconvenience."

That slate of Fox pre-orders have all been pulled from their site now.

Looks like the Erik The Viking release did actually happen, but all the other releases that were supposed to happen late last year (aside from the ones mentioned above) now show up as March 22 releases per Amazon. The ones I'd noted were The Razor's Edge, The Gunfighter, Fire Sale, Three Coins in the Fountain.

On their Facebook page, Signal One has just confirmed that they've reached a deal with Disney over the unreleased Fox titles.

Great news, hopefully this means they can get the ball rolling and Nightmare Alley and The Gunfighter are prioritised! Been waiting patiently for those two, and the other handful they'd confirmed (especially The Razor's Edge, Fire Sale, Halls of Montezuma, Rio Conchos). Hopefully they can still get Alex Cox on board with The Gunfighter in some capacity.

Oh, dear, no. It is nigh-impossible to watch in one sitting. The shame is that Robert Klane's book (BTW, his long OOP catalog, including the legendary The Horse is Dead, has just been reissued by the wonderful new publisher ANTIBOOKCLUB) is excellent, and the film mostly utilizes it, but the direction and cast are all going in opposing directions

willoneill wrote: Mon Jul 13, 2020 7:18 pm I pre-ordered Nightmare Alley from Base.com last week ... we'll see what happens. MichaelB, did you ever end up delivering that commentary final mix since your update last Christmas?
I'm delighted to report that this has now happened, and I kept my promise to turn the final mix around the same day that I was granted access to the master.

And I was completely justified in waiting for the master, because it turned out to be one and a half seconds longer than the DVD that we recorded the commentary against, so would have got very noticeably out of sync towards the end if I'd simply sent over the original mix. The extra length isn't for any exciting reason; it's just that the newer HD master was less tight when it came to negotiating reel changes, and so when I came across the first seven-frame discrepancy, I expected to encounter similar at regular intervals. And, sure enough...

(The same thing happened with Fox's Dragonwyck, whose masters I had to compare frame by frame when the Indicator edition opted not merely to include both masters but permit switching between them on the fly with the Angle button.)

I wasn't aware of this film, so for a second, I thought that meant the label was calling it quits and going into liquidation.
