Wasn't aware this was a remake. Reminds me of Paoulo Genovese's 2016 Perfetti sconosciuti, a movie that has been remade 29 times so far, mostly in Europe (including a Spanish version from Alex de la Iglesia). That's also a story about friends gathering for dinner. I remember seeing the trailer for the Norwegian version a few times, thinking it was not for me. But the fact that it is one of many remakes has made me curious. Not I'm also curious about The Invite.

and before that there was the French dinner movie, Le Dîner de Cons, but it looking it up it hasn't been remade as much as I thought, at least not many that actually credit the writer.
