03 The Shop Around the Corner

05 The Pirate

I sadly completely forgot to post some nominees for this list, and certainly would have preferred other contenders, especially since in the end, this is quite a US-centric list (actually, a Kino and WAC centric list) that puts aside tons of things recently restored and released in Europe and France (there's not even La roue !), while on the other hand, I have no idea what Hard Eight is doing here considering it uses a pre-existing master. Oh well, my fault anyway !
While we're waiting for more ballots, you could give us a Euro-centric top 10 :)

Thanks for boosting this title because otherwise I likely wouldn't have prioritized it until well past the deadline. I'm a bit speechless- as if I've finally discovered a masterpiece amongst the fluff that make the rounds at the Brattle's Trash Night, only to find out that everyone was ten steps ahead of me. This schizophrenic cocktail of fun feels like Karel Zeman, Nobuhiko Obayashi, and Jim Henson fought for creative control on an Indiana Jones wuxia film, only to deliver a final product that contains the best of each diverse artist. I'm really curious what Tony Rayns has to say about this one

Those are some interesting French releases, to be sure, though I guess there'll be an issue for many here with the lack of English subtitles

I considered Tremors, the previous bluray being one of those notorious DNR-releases from the early days of the format, but I thought Arrow released theirs in January 2021 and not in December 2020 (turns out I was wrong).

There's a good chance that due to other obligations (not to mention wanting to put together my own sci-fi list) I won't get around to tabulating this until mid next-week anyway. So I might as well just extend the deadline a whole week. Feel free to post a ballot or revise your current one up until I say no more edits

I am open to refiguring results if you or anyone else wants to submit a belated ballot. This list was based on only six second-round submissions

Thanks swo! Even though it was the winner by default, hopefully this prompts more people to seek out the Mai Zetterling set (especially with the 60s project approaching)

Could we have a 2021 run for this? The UK labels had a strong year again. It'd also be nice to have a UHD column for any great discs coming from European/non-US labels.
