I saw the Soda Pop Joe announcement and had no idea it was actually Lemonade Joe. I get that "Lemonade" doesn't mean actual American lemonade everywhere else, but I wonder if the NFA is aware that soft drinks have regional names even inside of the USA, to the point that there is an entire Wikipedia article on exactly that, which then also links to a site tracking the geographic distribution of the different terms. Perhaps they picked "soda pop" because the film is a parody of Westerns, but presumably, the Czech sound of the name "Limonádový Joe" is going to constantly suggest "lemonade" to an English ear, anyway.

I've never seen the film and the only previous releases appear to have been in Czechia (to use another "new" name), but assuming it will get a UK release at some point. I wonder if it will keep the older title. While certainly confusing for those who were already familiar with it, it actually seems to correct an initially inaccurate translation. Rather than literal lemonade, as already mentioned, "lemonade" in Czech refers (in whole or part) more broadly to the same class of beverages as Soda Pop. And because the film is a satire of US Westerns and apparently the character is associated with cola and "Joe" is already an Americanism, it seems wholly appropriate to use one of the more colorful names for the same in American vernacular. Carbonated Beverage Joe, or Soft Drink Joe doesn't quite have the same ring to it. Also, because K/pop Demon Hunters are in the Criterion Collection now, I can cross reference that every child in the known universe knows what Soda Pop is due to a popular song in that movie.

There was a limited edition? I see no mention of it on their website. I only see the standard edition that comes out in 2 weeks.

They've said that for the releases with slipcovers (rather than deluxe hard cases), the booklets will be included with the standard release, like during their OCN period.
