Is there a reason they named it Tony instead of a more specific title, say Bourdain?
Or Tony the Cook?

I assume it’s because the movie is going to be focused on presenting Bourdain, not as the famous cook, but as just an ordinary kid who slowly becomes shaped into Bourdain

Spoiler
Throughout the film he insists on being called "Tony" whenever someone calls him "Anthony", until the final moments when he is having an interview to attend the Culinary Institute of America

You can see elements of it in there but Roth's Ice Cream Man is definitely its own thing and after the debacle of Borderlands it was clearly a joy for him to return to this material. I had the day off so I went to a 10am session where there was only one other person in the cinema who bolted once the violence kicked off. Meanwhile I had an absolute blast, the setup with the idyllic small town tropes was done perfectly to lull you in before unleashing the gore. I found the demented kids and their gleefully horrific killing spree to be hysterical and I love that it follows through without wimping out.
