Nolan’s Memento is upcoming in 4K by Umbrella. They’re in the last stages of the grading. Expect a FiM encode and a huge collectors edition.

Re: New Australian DVD and BD Releases
Umbrella's releasing a 3-film Kinji Fukasaku set from which you probably already own two films.
And a 45-film(!) Universal Horror set from which you probably already own 40

Re: New Australian DVD and BD Releases
Really frustrating to not have Cross the Rubicon on its own. It’s insane how many of Fukasaku’s films have gotten Blu-Ray releases in the last few years, but his very best film is still so elusive (Under the Flag of the Rising Sun)swo17 wrote: Thu Jan 08, 2026 12:43 am Umbrella's releasing a 3-film Kinji Fukasaku set from which you probably already own two films.

I don't know why I've bothered collecting movies all this time. I should've just waited for Umbrella to release their 5,000-film "all the movies" set

All in blu-ray, some of which have already been released on UHD, others due to be on UHD soon, and who knows when all the remaining make it to UHD, so buy this now as it's a limited edition.

#3
Nighty Night Blu-Ray
Step into the world of Nighty Night, a hidden gem of an independent Japanese 8mm film that has been reborn for a new generation of horror enthusiasts!
This incredibly fun anthology film proves that bedtime is anything but safe. It presents four twisted tales, ranging from bloody birthday parties and deadly video games to surreal transformations. Nighty Night masterfully combines practical effects, imagery, and the neon-drenched aesthetic of mid-’80s indie horror, all set to a pulsating, Goblin-inspired soundtrack. Fans of Creepshow and Tales from the Darkside will find themselves right at home with Nighty Night.

#4
Noriko’s Dinner Table Blu-Ray
A companion piece to Sono’s cult classic Suicide Club, this film expands the story into an emotionally gripping exploration of identity, family, and the hidden loneliness of modern life. Following the journey of 17-year-old Noriko, who flees her small-town home for Tokyo, the film pulls viewers into the unsettling world of a “rental family” agency. More than just a “J-horror", Noriko’s Dinner Table is a chilling exploration of connection and alienation in the digital age. Combining intimate storytelling with Sono’s signature surreal flourishes, it is both heartbreaking and unforgettable.
Shot on lo-fi digital video and later transferred to 35mm film, New Wave Video is proud to present a full restoration sourced from the 35mm picture and sound negatives.

#5
A Colt Is My Passport Blu-Ray
#6Widely regarded as one of the greatest Japanese crime films of all time, A Colt Is My Passport is a lean, mean masterpiece from Nikkatsu’s golden era.
A Colt Is My Passport follows solitary hitman Kamimura (Joe Shishido) after a routine contract collapses into betrayal. Branded expendable by his employers, he flees with only his gun, his personal code, and a woman inadvertently drawn into his escape- moving through desolate industrial zones toward an end that feels both inevitable and self-chosen.
Filmed in austere black-and-white, the film distils noir to its most elemental form: spare dialogue, rigorously controlled compositions, and bursts of sudden violence. Its cool minimalism—inflected with the influence of the spaghetti western, culminates in one of the most explosive finales in cinema history. A cornerstone of Nikkatsu’s action cycle and a career-defining performance from Joe Shishido.
New Wave Video proudly presents a special edition of one of the coolest films ever made!

Nun in Rope Hell Blu-Ray
Redemption turns to damnation in one of Japanese cinema’s most infamous entries.
After a brutal act of violence shatters her illicit affair, guilt-ridden Takako (Miki Takakura) seeks salvation within the walls of a secluded convent. But the promise of absolution is a cruel illusion. Behind the convent’s holy façade lies a hidden world of ritualised cruelty, domination, and forbidden desire—where a group of nuns, aided by a notorious novelist, transform religious devotion into an elaborate twisted theatre.
Based on a novel by legendary author Oniroku Dan, Nun in Rope Hell is a disturbing collision of penitence and perversion, faith and flesh. Drawing visual and thematic influence from Suspiria and classic nunsploitation cinema, the film fuses eroticism with psychological horror, creating an unsettling and unforgettable experience.
New Wave Video proudly presents a special edition of this shocking Nikkatsu S&M gem.

Re: New Australian DVD and BD Releases
They also updated everyone that they are hoping the Urotsukidoji boxset will be ready for July. And that the Love Exposure set (which everyone assumes will be the 10 episode tv version of the film) will come later in the year.
They also mentioned that there are rights issues right now with School Of The Holy Beast which maybe explains why no one has put it out on Blu yet.
