The recent release of Old Boyfriends is $7.99. And who could resist The Gun in Betty Lou’s Handbag for $4.99?

The brand-new Lord Love a Duck blu is on sale for ~$10. Anyone looking for a wildly irreverent 60s satire starring Tuesday Weld should blindbuy immediately.

Thanks for the heads up!fdm wrote: ↑Mon Oct 19, 2020 3:03 pmKind of surprised that the Kino Shocktober Sale hasn't been mentioned around these parts. I was late in noticing it myself, it apparently started on the 15th, ends Nov 2.
I see Cohen Collection and Carlotta's few U.S. titles are now listed as well, though they're not necessarily bargains. (The Pialat collections are cheaper on Amazon.)
I should have held off on Five Graves to Cairo and Love Me Tonight, I bought them on Deep Discount during one of their many 15% off sales but they're even less here.
However, Highway Patrolman, Boy Meets Girl, Mauvais Sang, Je t'aime je t'aime (despite the shitty color - it's not getting a correction anytime soon so I gave in), Film Socialisme, Goodbye to Language (for some odd reason the two-disc Blu-Ray edition is cheaper than the DVD), and We Won't Grow Old Together are all bargains and I don't think you'll find them cheaper anywhere else anytime soon.

I am this French guy. Please can you develop and tell me precisely which VHS I would have stolen from you ? For decades I swapped magazines or VHS, then DVDs, with a lot of correspondents and practically never had any problems - except some parcels lost in the mail. This happens also with orders from another country. Did you write me about these "stolen" tapes ?

Here's the link to those sale titles which are OOP and thus in limited supply. If there's something you want from this lot, you should grab it, as I imagine we'll see more and more titles disappearing since people are adding movies to their larger Spooky sale (or whatever they're calling it)therewillbeblus wrote: ↑Wed Oct 21, 2020 8:41 pmWhile I saw it going for ~$10, thought 'Great Deal!' and chose to save it for next time, like a chump

• Audio Commentary by Film Historian Troy Howarth

• Dual-Layered BD50 Disc
• Optional English Subtitles
B&W 85 Minutes 1.37:1 Not Rated
From Robert Siodmak, the legendary director of The Spiral Staircase, The Killers, Cry of the City, Criss Cross and The Crimson Pirate, comes this classic film noir starring acting great Charles Laughton (Witness for the Prosecution). Philip Marshall (Laughton) is a kind, henpecked accountant who strikes up a friendship with Mary Gray (Ella Raines, Phantom Lady), a young unemployed stenographer who had approached him for work. He gradually finds himself falling in love with her, but keeps the relationship platonic. With his wife suspecting him of having an affair, Philip asks her for a divorce, but she refuses and threatens him with exposure and scandal. When his wife is found dead of an apparent accident, Inspector Huxley (Stanley Ridges, An Act of Murder) of Scotland Yard suspects Marshall of murder, but is unable to prove it or establish a motive.

This release will please most here I'm sure, but unfortunately happens to be a Siodmak I'm cool on. Still worth checking out considering I think it's widely appreciated and I hold the unpopular opinion this round.

I know I'm marching to the beat of a different drum on this one but I would love to see an upgrade of Christmas Holiday. It's audacious casting and sublime mise-en scene puts in upper tier Siodmak for me. I know Dominic Harvey I know. No need to shoot me down I'm already smelling the flames.
