Wow, awesome. I’ll be counting the days until Blackmail and I look forward to having an almost complete Hitchcock collection.
And then there are at least three versions of Murder: the full length version, a shorter edit with a different ending, and Mary, the German language (nearly) shot for shot version Hitchcock directed concurrently. Would love to see at least full length and Mary if not all three versions.

Coming March 12th on DVD and Blu-ray!

THE EARTHLING (1980)
• Brand New 2K Masters
• Includes both the 96-minute US cut and the 99-minute alternate International Cut
• 3 Deleted Scenes (no audio)
• Theatrical Trailer

Color 97 | 99 Minutes 1.85:1 Rated PG
Screen icon William Holden (The Devil’s Brigade, The Revengers) delivers the performance of a lifetime in this poignant action-adventure with stunning scenery from Australia’s New South Wales. Patrick Foley (Holden) is a hard-hearted, no-nonsense loner who spent his life exploring the world and avoiding his feelings. When he returns to his remote Australian birthplace, he is met with more than the average outback wildlife… fate throws him together with young Shawn Daley (Ricky Schroeder, The Champ, TV’s Silver Spoons), a recently orphaned, city-bred boy with little hope and even less self-reliance. How can he take a pampered little child into perilous, wild country without risking both their lives? The Earthling is a spectacular, thought-provoking drama, beautifully shot by Donald McAlpine (Moulin Rouge!) and co-starring Jack Thompson (Breaker Morant). The final film in the glorious career of director Peter Collinson (The Italian Job, The Sell-Out), who died at age 44 from cancer a few months after the release of this film, and second-to-last film of the legendary William Holden.

Coming March 19th on DVD and Blu-ray!

LOVERS AND OTHER STRANGERS (1970) with optional English subtitles
• BRAND NEW HD MASTER FROM A 4K SCAN OF THE ORIGINAL CAMERA NEGATIVE
• AUDIO COMMENTARY BY FILM HISTORIAN LEE GAMBIN
• KLSC TRAILERS

Color 104 Minutes 1.85:1 Rated R
First comes love, then comes marriage… then come loads of laughs in this critically acclaimed hit comedy. As Mike (Michael Brandon, Four Flies on Grey Velvet) and Susan (Bonnie Bedelia, Die Hard) prepare to walk down the aisle, the groom gets a case of cold feet. Turning to friends and family for support can send the couple running for matrimonial cover: Susan’s father is fooling around with her mother’s best friend; Mike’s brother is divorcing his high school sweetheart; his parents are living a loveless lie. The rocky road to happily-ever-after has never been so uproarious as in this vividly real and genuinely funny movie. Directed by Cy Howard with a screenplay by Renée Taylor, Joseph Bologna and David Zelag Goodman, based on the hit play by the husband-and-wife team of Taylor and Bologna. The stellar cast includes Bea Arthur (TV’s The Golden Girls and Maude), Richard Castellano (The Godfather), Harry Guardino (Madigan), Cloris Leachman (Scavenger Hunt), Gig Young (They Shoot Horses, Don’t They?) and Diane Keaton (The Good Mother) in her film debut. Oscar®-nominated for Supporting Actor (Castellano) and Adapted Screenplay (Bologna, Goodman, Taylor), it won the Oscar® for Best Song, “For All We Know,” music by Fred Karlin and lyrics by Robb Royer and Jimmy Griffin.

Coming March 19th on DVD and Blu-ray!

LOSIN’ IT (1983) with optional English subtitles
• BRAND NEW 2K MASTER!
• Trailers for LOSIN' IT UP THE CREEK | MOVING VIOLATIONS | PORKY’S II: THE NEXT DAY | PORKY’S REVENGE | MIRACLE BEACH | SUMMER LOVERS

Color 100 Minutes 1.85:1 Rated R
Hollywood icon Tom Cruise (Top Gun) in his first starring role has everything to gain—and a certain something to lose—when he crosses paths with Shelley Long (Hello Again) in this rambunctious road-trip comedy set in the wild and wacky sixties. When all-American high-schooler Woody (Cruise) and his Sinatra-obsessed pal Dave (Jackie Earle Haley, Watchmen) decide that it’s time to lose their virginity, they enlist the help of their “more experienced” friend Spider (John Stockwell, Christine) and head south-of-the-border. Now, in a hilariously raunchy search for cheap booze—and even cheaper thrills—the intrepid trio will run into fast-food floozies, crooked cops and a close encounter with a doubting would-be divorcée (Long) that will change Woody’s life forever. Wonderfully directed by Curtis Hanson (L.A. Confidential, The Bedroom Window) with a screenplay by B.W.L. Norton (Convoy).

Cathy Whitaker (Moore) has it all—a lovely home, two wonderful children and a handsome husband (Quaid) who is successfully climbing the corporate ladder. But Cathy’s idyllic existence is just an illusion, and she eventually must choose between living a lie or following her heart. Written and directed by Todd Haynes (Carol) and co-starring Dennis Haysbert (Love Field), Patricia Clarkson (The Station Agent) and Viola Davis (The Help). FAR FROM HEAVEN garnered rave reviews and was NOMINATED FOR 4 ACADEMY AWARDS® including ACTRESS (Moore), ORIGINAL SCREENPLAY (Haynes), ORIGINAL SCORE (Elmer Bernstein) and CINEMATOGRAPHY (Edward Lachman).

Excited to own more Haynes on Blu! I saw Far From Heaven theatrically both on its initial release and a couple of years ago as part of a festival tribute to Ed Lachman, and its lush colors and and subtly complicated lighting should look great in HD.

That may have been the original plan, but that's not what happened. Per Kino's instructions, L'Immagine Ritrovata did the color grading following the previous MGM master as a reference.

This is a fun, suspenseful bank robbery thriller. A Canadian tax shelter film with an American star, director and screenwriter (Christopher Plummer is the best-known talent involved in the movie who's Canadian). Of course I just bought the DVD last summer.
