Re: Fake Criterion Covers
Thanks guys!
The font is Kativa Cyrillic. The kana font is SimHei. Here's another one I just made for fun:

Not as graphic intense, but I liked that poster. I might do one of Eternal Sunshine and Let the Right One In.
Any requests?

I dearly wish for a better DVD for that film. Criterion or not, I want more.

Re: Fake Criterion Covers
Nice covers lord_hidetora! (Just one thing that disturbs me: when you write in カタカナ vertically, the "ー" has to be written vertically too. A couple of months ago I saw a person who had his name tattooed on his leg:
オ
ス
カ
ー
Obviously neither he or his tattooer knew any Japanese!)

Ah, see I was wondering that exact thing while I was doing it, but I wasn't sure. I've only taken a semester of Japanese so far, and we haven't done much in the way of vertical writing. I'll have to change that...

Re: Fake Criterion Covers
I reposted it. Let me know if anyone wants the high res files. I can also design the spine and back and make a slip cover.

I'm not a fan of Lost in Translation, but I'll be damned if that ain't a good cover.

Re: Fake Criterion Covers
I’d like to see some fake mark-ups of some Nollywood videos (Outkast by Chico Ejiro comes to mind) and the Bollywood classic Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995), which either Jon or Tamara said they’d release if they could get the rights. Peace.

I like the covers for Au revoir les enfants and Alphaville. Better than the ones Criterion is using now IMO

All three of those covers are great. Not to damn you with faint praise, but I think that your cover of Seconds may be one of the best ones in this thread. The font is as perfect as the image.
