Oops my bad. Maybe it's temporary glitch on the CC site then. Wouldn't be the first time it's happened.

You might wanna try out buying them from dvdpacific. Been buying from them for over 2,5 years now and only received one damaged digipack (The Double Life Of Veronique). They replaced quickly as well.

Seconded. I have had no problems since I started using DVD Pacific. As an added bonus, they often have the lowest prices on Criterions, and, since you pay incrementally less for shipping with each additional item you order, you are totally justified in buying many, many DVDs at once.

Actually, that only applies to international orders. If you live in America, the sky's the limit! Though I think the most I ever bought at once was ten.
DVD Pacific FAQ wrote:With International Mail shipments you may order as many items as you wish but we will separate the shipments to a maximum of 9 to 12 items in any one shipment depending upon if box sets etc. We must employ this restriction on international mail shipments primarily because USPS imposes a 4lb maximum weight limit on all international mail. Please be aware complete separate shipping charges will also apply when any order is split as per above. Domestic mail shipments are not subject to the 12 item limit although we may upgrade your shipment to a courier ground service dependant upon weight and value of any single shipment. This upgrade will be at the sole discretion of DVD Pacific. There will be no additional charges applied for an upgrade in shipping at our discretion.
P.S. No, I do not work for DVD Pacific.

I gave up on dvdpacific a long time ago. Too many dented/dinged up dvd cases (not even caused during shipping), and the last time I got such was given shit about returning perfectly fine merchandise, nothing wrong with it etc.

Really got an attitude from them -- except for amazon and their frequent bubble bag fiascos, I usually am very nice when making exchanges (though sometimes deepdiscount gets a little bit of an attitude from me, usually when their bubble bag shipments get massacred).

[First tried dvdpacific circa one of the olden Criterion box sets timeframe, I think the BRD trilogy (back when they had very nice people at the other end of my emails); think I ended up getting it elsewhere after a couple of tries. Problem is the further the packages have to travel, the more likely they end up getting tossed about one too many times. Cardboard is the most vulnerable, and for some reason the packing clowns just about always put the digipaks and/or the box sets in the bottom of the box, shoved into the corner. The end.]

Hmmmmm. I order all of my Criterions from either Amazon or DeepDiscount. I recently ordered Vampyr from Amazon and Mishima from DD, not to mention the Dreyer set and a ton of others in their last sale. All of my sets have arrived nice and pretty. Never had a problem with dinged up packages or digipacks in the corners of boxes. They never send mine in bubble packages either.

Maybe those stores just hate you guys.

S'ok, I pretty much hate them too anymore. Love-hate thing. [Amazon likes to bubble bag their (or at least my) 2-day shipments, regardless of what's in them.]

I'll second what Feego wrote. I placed quite a few orders during Planet's 20%, DD's 20% and B1G1 sales, and every one of them, including all the stragglers, were shipped in a box and undamaged. I can't remember the last time I received anything in a bubble mailer, even from Amazon. I guess me one luck dog.

Any info on the Salo packaging yet? As to whether it'll be a digipak or not/what the interior looks like?

EDIT: How the fuck did I miss that? Thanks domino.

Well not to bring up something that was obviously discussed two pages ago, but what's that final image of, to the right of the back cover?

EDIT: I know the image is from the film, I'm just wondering what in the world it is in relation to the package. The booklet?

Yea, Amazon bubble bagged my Eclipse Series 10. Looked like an accordion. They boxed the replacement and it came perfect however.

That Bottle Rocket cover is pretty damn cool, but I can't really understand the pink, especially with the red title over top of it. It would be much better if the sky were blue. But - yay, it's Bottle Rocket!

The Fanfan la Tulipe cover is creepy. And awful.

Right click --> Properties.

These are from the site, there's no listing for these releases yet, but the pictures have been uploaded.

They're also all epically bad. If the Bottle Rocket cover didn't have a passing resemblance to the earlier work of Eric Anderson, I wouldn't hesitate calling these all fake for a minute. If these are real, maybe Criterion did hire swimminghorses.

Edit: sweet Jesus, they are real. WTF?

The Chungking Express one is pretty nice, in my opinion. And a pretty clever use of the wacky C.

The Spy Who Came In From the Cold is just so bland. It's not a terrible photo to use, but the text just makes it certifiably boring and amateurish.

Re-posting them for easy reference on this page:

Jesus christ. I suppose Chungking at least is passable, but mostly for inventive wacky C usage.

It really looks like they spent five minutes making that cover. What a truly dreary work. The banality of it is almost crushing.

I think what's driving me crazier about the Bottle Rocket cover than anything is the fact that the Eric Anderson hand-drawing the Criterion logo thing worked with the old format, but with the wacky C, it just makes it look like one of the custom covers on this site, when someone tries to draw the C in Photoshop and it ends up looking really weird and lousy and just off. It makes the whole cover look terrible.
