I kept waiting for Cooper to re-stage the "party at Lenny's"—a fundraiser for the Black Panther Party— for which Tom Wolfe coined the term "radical chic".... no dice.

Overall I liked this, but it reminded me of Peele’s Us in that it’s a very showy follow up that is a total mess in a rather calculated way. It borders on incoherent with its presentation and expressing of its themes, but in that mess there’s a lot to enjoy. Hopefully now that he’s gotten this kind of big sloppy art fest out of his system he can refine his work into something a little easier to praise.
