Agreed. The Light Sleeper cover will improve a lot when they remove the two smaller color photos.

MichaelB, where is the Twentieth Century art from? It's beautiful and a lovely cover. I happen to have framed in my house two posters from the film and I've never seen this particular image before. Is it just a still from the film?

The image of Lombard in that dress was used in various posters at the time - sometimes, but not always in the very same pose - but this exact image, including colouring and background, is from an original lobby card. You'll be able to see the source (and those various posters) in the disc's image gallery.

It's not that lobby card but here's an image probably from the same shoot with a similar pose, hair of course, but also dress details and the drapes behind.

I haven't seen Twentieth Century in nearly 20 years (and then on a so-so 16mm print IIRC), but I remember finding it almost literally breathtaking—in that it was so manic I had to catch my breath numerous times. I remember my friend theatrically exhaling and miming wiping sweat from his brow at the end.

It's almost like Hawks went balls-to-the-wall with the rapid-fire overlapping dialogue in this film and then dialed it back/modulated it (slightly) for his subsequent comedies.

DVD Beaver caps absolutely do not do justice to how wonderful Twentieth Century looks, and it's one of the best restorations for a film of its vintage I've ever seen? Easily on par with the likes of It Happened One Night. There is not a scratch anywhere to be found and I can only assume the negative or elements were in pristine shape. The audio is particularly enjoyable, and I'm trying to pay more attention to the hiss and punchi-ness of these early sound films and as Barrymore and Lombard sway from destitute worry to screaming their heads off, the outstanding audio really added to the effect.

Overall I found the movie hilarious, and often found myself laughing maybe even when I wasn't supposed to. I think the last Barrymore film I saw was the excellent Counsellor At Law and it was remarkable to see just how different he was here, and his performance certainly gave me the impression that maybe Gene Wilder had stolen a move or two from his performance here. Lombard is no slouch though, and there's a particular moment on the train, nearly at the end of the film, when and her mood changes from morose to screeching within seconds that I found hilarious.

Was looking forward to this release the second the cover art got teased and it did not disappoint.

Now that's an inspired packaging decision- can't wait to get my copy. I'd assume all the LEs have this easter egg inclusion?

Same, and as someone who had never seen the film I was quite confused. Good thing I watched the film a day later before I threw it out.

I didn't get the business cards, but then again I waited for a sale. I *did* get a poster (which has since been ruined unfortunately).

From what I gather, they're primarily intended as a thank-you to people who pre-order directly from Powerhouse, and thereafter are supplied until the stock runs out.

Since things generally (invariably?) only go on sale when they've been on the market for at least six months, they'll definitely have run out by then unless they seriously miscalculated the necessary quantities.

Hopefully preordering the third Film Noir set as part of my order won't impact me getting one- since I certainly won't get my package shipped for a couple months...

Very disappointed (though not unexpected) that my copy didn't include this packaging bonus- it'd be great if Indicator opened up a shop a la Criterion, and sold the stickers. If you're listening Indicator, I'd add them to my next order.
