According to Michael Mackenzie in an interview that was filmed 2 weeks ago, a Italian Cult boxset will be announced tomorrow.

Could be something to do with Fulci's 'Massacre Time'.

Well fingers crossed it’s not just another port of Camera Obscura titles.

Considering how comparatively expensive Camera Obscura titles are, I would welcome a boxset of their titles from someone like Arrow. There are at least a couple they have released that have been on my wanted list for a few years now, but I can no longer justify dropping up to £40 on a blind bought exploitaion title just for curiousity's sake.

Oh, that's good news - I have rather a soft spot for 'Demons' (which I first saw on its original release Italy in a cinema with wooden seats very like the one in the film), but have no desire to watch 'Demons 2' ever again, so I'm glad I have the option now.

Apologies to the poor guy who bought my Mill Creek Daimaijin set for nearly £50 last weekend, which I listed in anticipation of this announcement.

Yeah, I can completely see the up side. My comment was coming from the completely selfish side of someone who’d already bought the CO versions as they came out, which made the Arrow Years of Lead set seem even more expensive than it was.

It's a stock photo for 'train on railroad track'. Coupled with Fran's clue list, it seems likely to be pointing towards Lars Von Trier's Europa (part of the 'VT Box Set' that's due).
Sooooooo I guess no Von Trier boxset, then.

I thought I'd responded to these rumours a while ago, but just to confirm - no, Arrow do not have any Von Trier films for license on physical media at this time. The recent streaming releases on the ARROW platform were licensed from Curzon for digital only.

You did. I even posted a link to your tweet saying Arrow wasn't releasing any LVT films in the Arriw thread at the Blu-ray.com forums. Apparently it didn't sink in.

That was my understanding too but I kept seeing some people mentioning this possibility and merely used Colvin's post to settle this once and for all.

Oh, I knew that there was no way that any of the films on the Arrow Channel were going to be for physical release. I didn't realise it was all-encompassing; the Europa Trilogy has been OOP for a long time and was previously released by Tartan.

Happy about these three, and might get Demons one day too (sold my Demons 1&2 steelbook years ago, but curious to see the first one again). Will probably only pre-order True Romance LE but must say the other two are still tempting. I imagine they'll be reissued sans-book afterwards though, and therefore will be more affordable (thinking the same with last month's Years of Lead release...I'm sure the books are really good quality but at this point I'd only pay top dollar for, say, The Dollars Trilogy).

Someone has found listings on the BBFC website for Children of the Corn II and III that were recently submitted by Arrow.
Intriguing update.

It was tempting to assume the original would becoming to 4k. As the US B-R was from a 4k scan, as well.

However, is a B-R box set of the first three more likely?

Heard good things about part 3, Urban Harvestby the way.

Time for some wild, irresponsible conjecture. From the latest Out of the Blue Kickstarter restoration newsletter:
We've accepted an offer from an established and well-regarded British company to partner on the release in the UK. Tentative plans include a small theatrical re-release and then disc release in the Fall. Very exciting and we're looking forward to working with them to create bonus disc material that we'll also use for the U.S. release.
Sounds like Arrow to me (with Second Sight being a less-likely alternative).

Perhaps, but I don't see anything there to suggest Arrow over any of the other labels and them only having UK rights surely makes Second Sight or Indicator more likely?

I don’t really think of edgy, controversial cult films as being in Indicator’s wheelhouse (though they did release Irreversible). And there are numerous UK-only Arrow releases. (Vinegar Syndrome would be the perfect US distributor.) The use of the term ‘established’ put me in mind of Arrow as well, although Indicator have now been around for several years and are of course ‘well-regarded.’

I would perfectly see Indicator releasing it to go alongside their Last Movie release.

I wonder if it's not Eureka though? That post talks about a theatrical release as part of the agreement, and Eureka is more active in that space than Arrow or Indicator... I think.

I know these sort of nothing responses iterating excitement are more for the blu ray forums but this news just makes me feel like:

Holy fucking shit. I'm so goddamn happy.

I saw there’s a 4k uhd set of Ketchum’s Offspring, The Woman & Darlin’. In Germany.

Obviously the first two were released by Arrow as restored Blu rays; and I have the German steelbook of the latter which is a dual format 4k and B-R.

Would Arrow upgrade?
