I remember THE COWBOY WAY because when I got my first first job, working at a movie theater, that was playing. I don’t actually recollect whether I watched the movie but I can tell you that a Bon Jovi song (natch) about how good guys don’t always wear white played during the end credits while I picked up trash. Probably a metaphor in there somewhere.

I just finished watching the BD of The Freshman and it is indeed as poor as advertised. I never got around to picking up the DVD and the BD was only $8, so I'm not terribly upset by it, but it's one of the worst looking discs I now own. Hopefully someday down the road Sony gets around to making a new master scan of the film as this source has to be at least 20 years old. That combined with Mill Creek's low quality encode leaves much to be desired.

Finding Forrester (2000) on 4/13/21, via Sony. Previously had a releases as a BD-R under the defunct "Sony Choice Collection" branding.

Wish they'd thrown in some of the other Martini Movies DVD titles into that set rather than recycling films already out on Blu (Getting Straight would have been a better fit anyways)

I’m unfamiliar with Mill Creek’s reputation for quality. Apart from the additional titles, I doubt this will be an improvement on the Indicator set, but can I expect it to be at least an upgrade from the Sony Boetticher DVD set?

They'll prob use the same masters as Indicator, but not the same disc encoding. And unlikely to be any new extras not on the DVD sets, if even those. Mill Creek gets a ridiculously unfair wrap, but a lot of their budget Blu-ray releases are good deals for what you get

Allegedly this set uses uprezzed SD transfers, and at least one episode has audible, alarm-like noise dwarfing the dialog for over half a minute. I guess some labels look at KLSC and declare “I can do less QC than even that!”

In addition to some random re-issues of formerly released Universal titles, The Cure (1995) is arriving to BD for the first time in the US on 10/4/22 (via Universal)
