I refuse to believe this is Night of the Hunter and I'll stay with my original guess of Fatal Attraction on blu.

Happily for all of us, Paramount released FA on Blu already.

With the extra resolution of Blu-ray, we'll be able to see that one of them has "WUV" tattooed on his paw.

Ah, Jeffrey Wells, I hate you so much.

(Had to post that since apparently he's reading this thread.)

Agreed. What a fuckwad. Criterion appears to be prepping a NIGHT OF THE HUNTER Blu-ray and his reaction is to bitch about a cartoon drawing in a newsletter. Small-minded twit.

The level of contempt Wells is able to drum up for a cheeky drawing of a bunny rabbit circulated for fun in a newsletter with the aim to rev up consumers for a highly anticipated title (in HD no less) that's been years in the making is truly astounding. Did Criterion like murder this guy's parents or something?

I'd assume with grainy film stock.

Wow. I'd rather read Drudge every day of my life than Wells. What a shit-for-brains philistine.

I bet it will be a lot sooner than that. While there are, of course, still older hints that have yet to come to fruition (e.g. Cronos), I'm pretty sure that at least since October 2009, the lag between a hint and a release date hasn't been more than 6 months (excluding AntiChrist, which has yet to be announced, but I bet that release will also fall within 6 months of the hint). Heck, Breathless was announced the month after the hint. I'm willing to wager we'll see Night of the Hunter before the end of the year.

You know what, who cares if Mr. Wells "ates" the rabbit cartoon? I "wuv" it. I thought it was simply a cute twist on what would have been an otherwise ho-hum clue. If they really were thinking of "Robbie the Rabbit," Sideshow Bob or the rabbits in the film, then the cartoon was also clever.

Nice. It would be odd for this not to come out on Blu as well though. They usually indicate that in the hints, but as I recall, the hint for Stagecoach didn't do this.
