The DC is only 2 minutes longer then the R-rated cut and I believe that's due to the "Hellfire club" scene being longer, along with less pixelation. There is also a Cannes cut that is 10 minutes longer but hasn't been available to the public.

Criterion including the Cannes cut would make Never Cursed's purchase more of a sacrifice

In the storied tradition of this forum, awesome, I just bit the bullet and imported the Arrow blu
The Arrow is terrific (I think I voted it best release of 2019)- I just hope for your sake you somehow get a booklet!

Oh, and to keep this on topic to the thread, the Arrow has a better cover too

Are we expecting this to be a new restoration from the Arrow? I see Janus has mentioned it as "new" on social media, but mk2 just helped restore the film for the Arrow blu less than two years ago

I doubt they would do another 2K restoration for this, so It's probably going to be the same transfer that Arrow used for their release.

The Lincoln Center website states “new 2K restoration” so yes, likely the same as the Arrow.

According to bluray.com the Persona bluray only re-release will remain a digipak. Makes sense because of the booklet

Hopefully the tray will be a bit slimmer at least.

Love the personality inventory on the Parallax View booklet, and the image on the Smooth Talk one underlines the unsettling implicit tone to offset the romanticized cover

Smooth Talk is great all-around, and I have a fondness for Man Push Cart. The back of the latter is a little uninspired, though.

I'm very happy with the Flowers of Shanghai cover. That Janus poster is awful.

Do they really need Cameron Crowe's name to sell Fast Times?

Very bland cover for Trances. The whole repackaging seems phoned in.

I was afraid the Flowers of Shanghai cover would be bad but it's gorgeous. Alas I see they are still making classic Hollywood covers with robot stand-ins.

That Merrily We Go to Hell cover is atrocious, up there with Cluny the Robot Riveter... The concept is fine, but those faces are awful.

That Nightmare Alley cover is a mess. Turn it upside down and look at how bad those body proportions really are

March in particular looks absolutely hilarious, but even more than that, their facial expressions aren't communicating anything- which is clearly what the cover is going for

I rather like the Nightmare Alley cover - he's in the precise position of of the Hanged Man card in tarot, which is a nice touch, and I think it's one of the better new illustrations for a noir they've come up with in the past few years. Glad they reneged on the Janus poster for Flowers of Shanghai. The Arzner is another groaner, but for me the real horror is the Fast Times cover - it screams one of those "Totally Tubular 80s Throwback!!" repackages. I can't look at it.

The Fast Times cover looks like the Dazed and Confused cover, just change the aesthetic from 70s to 80s and use buttons instead of the holes in the Digipack.

The Flowers of Shanghai cover is beautiful. I wouldn't be surprised if it ended up being my favorite cover of the year.

Yeah, And look at March's eyeline on Merrily we Go to Hell. I guess her forehead is super interesting? Her eyeline is perfect, though.

I guess they were going for March having an alcoholic stupor-induced thousand-yard stare past his beautiful bride, who is reacting with surprise at that stare. But...that's very much a guess.
