I had a look at the LG C9 and the 55" is about 1600€ and the 65" 2500€.
Those prices look way too expensive. I am checking local prices here in Estonia for 2020's CX models, and 55" CX goes for about 1350€ and 65" CX 1950€. Last year's C9 models aren't widely available anymore.

I wouldn't consider going from 92" projection to 55-65" inch screen an upgrade, even with the increase in resolution, hence why I think I will remain with only HD for the near future.

If you have a JVC or a really good Epson Full HD I agree, but getting an 75-85 4K DV LCD from Sony or Samsung could be an improvement!

Here is the trailer for the Serpico 4K Restoration. The color timing seems to be causing controversy over on the blu forums.

Haven't checked but I suppose it's from Ritrovata.

it's the usual greenish/yellowish restoration. This doesn't look to me natural or accurate in comparison to the MoC release.
It's difficult so swallow that all 70's movies, because of film-stock, with different director of photography with their own style will all look like "Le Grand Blond avec une chaussure noir" (The Tall Blond Man with One Black Shoe)

It's quite niche and possibly sprawling so I'm unsure who would do this, but is there a comprehensive list of releases affected by this color timing? Along with perhaps alternate choices for some of them like Arrow's Tree of Wooden Clogs or Second Sight's Color of Pomegranates Yuktevich cut? The latter may stretch what I'm meaning given its a different cut but the teal is somewhat subdued vs. the Parajanov cut.

I'll try and check this. There is a topic for this on blu-ray.com but I don't think it's up to date, and it probably only cover Ritrovata's yellow color grading and not Eclair blue one.
I doubt there'll ever be a comprehensive list though, since some of these restorations haven't been released on BD, and some have only been released in countries whose releases aren't often discussed or seen by people who might feedback on this.

Is this edition of Le Trou (Jacques Becker, 1960) English-friendly?

It only has French SDH subs on the main feature and the book is only in French. I don't think anything has been done to make the extras English-friendly either, so I don't think so.
Since the book is only in French and is the main reason for the higher price, I suggest you rather go with the UK release instead.

I actually caught Serpico in 35mm at Quad Cinema not long before the pandemic, and it definitely did NOT look like that. It's really getting tiresome how the same people are fucking up all of these restorations.

Not sure where this should be posted, since it concerns The Elephant Man on both Studio Canal and Criterion discs -- but Studio Canal was apparently responsible for restoring the film, so here goes: there is a fadeout missing from the film discussed here on p. 19 onwards (scroll down for video comparisons):
https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.ph ... 28&page=19
A good example of a QC issue.
Thread also discusses a missing fade to white on Criterion´s Eraserhead (corrected), missing fade-in to the jitterbug sequence in Mulholland Drive (not corrected) and the soundtrack of Elephant Man.

If Criterion fixes the Mulholland Drive disc, I hope they re-encode it and make it look like SC's BD, with none of the artifacts plaguing the Criterion disc. I'll happily double dip if they do (or I guess triple-dip - I eventually sold off the Criterion disc and picked up the SC BD).

I'm pretty sure the missing fade in Mulholland Drive is actually the one Lee Kline mentions in his Team Deakins podcast interview and not the missing fade in Eraserhead, which was fixed. It seems that Lynch really didn't care about fixing it, so I wouldn't expect it to be fixed.

From Variety
For 2021, Studiocanal has several high-profile re-releases planned, including “Basic Instinct” in May and several titles that have yet to be scheduled, such as Joe Dante’s 1981 “The Howling”;
Joseph Losey’s 1976 wartime drama “Monsieur Klein,” starring Alain Delon, and his 1963 drama “The Servant”; Michael Powell’s 1960 horror thriller “Peeping Tom”; and Jacques Becker 1945 French classic “Paris Frills” (“Falbalas”), all of which will receive theatrical releases in at least one of Studiocanal’s territories.

The company is also planning a special event next year to celebrate the 20th anniversary of “Bridget Jones’s Diary” – if circumstances surrounding the pandemic allow for it, Hochart added.

Also among Studiocanal’s 2021 releases is Ousmane Sembène’s 1968 Senegalese classic “Mandabi,” the first feature-length African-language film from West Africa. A restored version is premiering this week at the Lumière Film Festival in Lyon, with global releases planned for early 2021.

Guess that puts to rest hopes of Indicator picking up the Loseys, though good news nonetheless

Yes indeed that's a shame in many respects.
Indicator could have had a field day with those two. King and Country is still in limbo though I don't know whether they could get it.
