Does anyone know if this is comming to dvd?
Who owns the rights?

Hm, the production credits seem rather complicated. Since it was originally released by United Artists, it might be controlled by MGM/UA (now to be distributed by Fox). But it was later re-released by Eagle-Lion, so I don't know if MGM/UA still own it after all.

Going by the production company (Edward Small Productions), I'd say that it's probably PD now. (1940's SON OF MONTE CRISTO and 1936's LAST OF THE MOHICANS certainly are.) More promising, however, is the fact that Anchor Bay released the 1939 version of MAN IN THE IRON MASK on VHS. Since neither that movie nor this version of MONTE CRISTO has been released by PD distributor, maybe a independent label like Anchor Bay is still sitting on it. Might be worth e-mailing them and asking.
