Re: MoC Forthcoming, Wishlist and Random Speculation
In fact, there already was a newish one on a previous release, I think the Olive. And i've heard distinguished actor Mark Patton was apparently involved in making extras for past unrealized releases of this movie. I wonder why neither has been licensed??Jean-Luc Garbo wrote: ↑Wed May 01, 2019 2:27 pmWow, extremely glad I've held off buying the Olive blu of the Altman. Any chance of a new interview with Ed Graczyk?

They're officially announced, no need to spoiler them

The Incident is very welcome news, glad I didn’t get the Twilight disc. This and Indicator’s Marlene Dietrich & Josef von Sternberg at Paramount 1930-1935 made my day.

Not sure why they keep promoting The Incidentas a world premiere on blu-ray though.

They must've changed it; the Amazon listing for The Indicent originally did say 'Masters of Cinema' next to it.

Hoping that either Eureka or Second Sight will grab Mad Dog Morgan, which Umbrella recently put out in a supposedly good restoration.

Looks like High Noon is being announced on Thursday... at noon, no less:

Or maybe the reference only relates to the time of the announcement

Re: MoC Forthcoming, Wishlist and Random Speculation
If that were the case, they could have used a picture of a random clock striking noon instead of a screencap from a classic film.

It seems like there will at least have The Iron Fisted Monk (according to the BBFC page).

I think they did It doesn't look, like the clock in the film There is no name on the High Noon clock
Also why can't it equally be midnight?

Far be it from a film label to use a still from a film to promote their film-related operations

IMDB thinks it's a still from High Noon: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0044706/me ... m323777536NABOB OF NOWHERE wrote: ↑Tue Jun 18, 2019 2:46 pmI think they did It doesn't look, like the clock in the film There is no name on the High Noon clock

Conspicuous that they avoided using the word "noon" in their tweet, but then used a still from High Noon of a clock that points to noon. If they were mostly trying to emphasize noon as the announcement time, seems like they wouldn't've not said "noon" in the text.

Strange because the clip of Cooper sitting under the clock towards noon has no inscription on it

Re: MoC Forthcoming, Wishlist and Random Speculation
High Noon is very probably since they have an active Paramount deal and I've been personally told there will be a few Paramount titles for MoC announced before the end of the year (Jimmy Dean being another). Very good news as it means they've snapped up at least one Republic title - I hope they managed to also get Johnny Guitar (another of my favourite Westerns), as well as Siegel's Invasion of the Body Snatchers and Welles' Macbeth (and maybe some Ford too).

Oh it's totally in MoC's wheelhouse, just not that exciting when an excellent-looking BD has already been sitting on my shelf for the last seven years

Re: MoC Forthcoming, Wishlist and Random Speculation
Lee Gambin posted on twitter that he was doing a video essay for a MoC box set with six titles. he had since ruled out Sirk and Sturges and did not respond to Naruse.

I’m actually pretty sure I know what that project is but I’m sworn to secrecy... but I’m not sworn against hints. So, my clue is that it’s for a director who already has multiple films released by MOC

Lee Gambin writes for Diabolique and Fangoria and has published books on the making of Cujo and Christine. I don't mean to minimise his talents, but guessing Naruse seems very wide of the mark.

They teased that potential mega-Lang box set a few years ago, but have since released even more of his films as standalones...
