It might be brief but 21 secs can make a huge difference.
I've actually never seen Dreamscape before. What's it like?

I only saw it once during its initial theatrical release thirty years ago, but I remember it being a fairly slight thriller very typical of the mid-80s. David Patrick Kelly played an effective villain, but the film didn't spend enough time in the "dream world" to really fulfill its potential.

Thanks Roger. Guess I might leave this to the maybe someday list.

Huh, I just realised I can borrow it locally, so I may have to check this out regardless. Cheers.

Well, the whole film can be found here. I suppose if you're in the mood for bargain basement schlock (and a terrible synth score), this could do the trick. Unsurprisingly, the film is cheesier than I remembered with much of it (especially the resolution) being atrociously bad.

I can now confirm Carlotta has used the cut version for their release of Dreamscape. The runtime is 1h 38 min 58 sec.
Also, don't expect so much of an upgrade compared to the Image BD, because the Carlotta release doesn't fare much better as far as PQ is concerned. At least, it's in 1080p, now.

From Blu-ray.com:
Carlotta Films will release Orson Welles' Macbeth (1948) and Othello (1952) on November 5th, and Michael Cimino's Thunderbolt and Lightfoot (1974) on November 19th.

Othello has been newly restored in 2K.

Can't wait, will definitely get these around Xmas time. Their version of Secret Beyond the Door and Letter From an Unknown Woman look like they were upgrades over the Olive releases, so I'm really excited to see what they do for Macbeth.

The forthcoming Arrow disc will be using exactly the same transfer - Arrow and Carlotta jointly funded James White to clean up Universal's master.

High marks for the Othello release at bluray.com

Carlotta will be releasing this separately from Macbeth and as a box it looks like, according to amazon.fr. Can't wait.

Macbeth at bluray.com 4 stars. No side by side screencaps between the Olive available, but doesn't look too different. Also, looks like all of the supplemental stuff except one piece on Voodoo Macbeth is in French without subtitles.

The box looks great though. I'll still be getting it.

I'm not familiar with this movie. Is there a reason for the running time differences between the Olive disc (107 min.) and what the reviewer lists as the long version (119 min.) on the Carlotta?

The longer Carlotta cut includes the entrance and exit music composed by Jacques Ibert for this film but this cut doesn't include any extra footage. It's just music to a blank screen.

Cimino's Year of the Dragon on Blu? Great news - a very fine thriller; Carlotta certainly seem very keen on Cimino at the moment.

Shit, for a moment there I thought Le Cousin meant the Corneau film! More Cimino & Fleischer, very cool - but most of all, Le Prince de Hombourg: is this the Kleist adaptation by Marco Bellocchio? Anyone seen it?

As I wrote on blu-ray.com, here is what we know already :

Carlotta will announce today their January to April 2015 lineup on their Facebook page.

Antartica is planned for Feb 4th.
A Nagisa Oshima boxset is foreseen for March 2015.
Mariage à l'italienne is foreseen for May 2015.
3:10 to Yuma is foreseen for June 2015.
Bonjour Tristesse is foreseen for Autumn 2015.

Sandrine Veysset's Will it Snow for Christmas? (1996) has been scanned and restored in 4K at Digimage Classics for Carlotta from its Super 16 OCN. It has been supervised and approved by Sandrine Veysset and also approved by Hélène Louvart. A DCP 4K and a HDCAM-SR master have been struck from this new restoration. A BD release is to be expected.

There will be a most certainly BD boxset of movies by Nagisa Oshima which will include : Le Petit Garçon / La Cérémonie / La Pendaison / Carnets Secrets des Ninjas / Le Journal de Yunbogi / Une petite soeur pour l'été / Il est mort après la Guerre / Journal d'un voleur de Shinjuku / Le Piège. Authoring will be done in January.

Great news on the Oshima and should imagine the Fleischer will be blu too. Is there any info elsewhere regarding what can be expected from Arkadin?

Not yet I'm afraid, so no idea if a video release will happen or if it's only part of their theater re-release lineup.

So only Death by Hanging, Boy and The Cermony in Blu. Does this mean that In The Realm of the Senses is not part of this set?
