And I'm proud to own them!! Two of my absolute favorite films. If Second Run ever do release a Blu I hope they consider Tropical Malady.

Excited for this. However, just out of insterest, does this rule it out of the upcoming MoC WCF Box sets?

Second Run doesn't necessarily own the video rights.

If you're in London on Tuesday October 13, you can sign up for a FREE masterclass by Apichatpong Weerasethakul taking place at the gorgeous Regent Street Cinema, hosted by University of Westminster's Centre for Research and Education in Arts and Media (CREAM). The event is free of charge but reservation on Eventbrite is essential. One ticket per person.

Re: 34 Tropical Malady
Is there a consensus as to whether this is preferable to the Strand R1 DVD?

Re: 34 Tropical Malady
The Strand is vastly inferior when it comes to the presentation of the movie itself: a PAL-to-NTSC transfer with stereo sound (no 5.1 track) and yellow subtitles instead of the more sensible white used on the Second Run. But the commentary with Apichatpong and Chuck Stephens is exclusive to the Strand and a good argument for getting both.
