Everytime it gets close it gets pushed back again :(

Got to say, I'm disappointed at how much more expensive the Blu-ray version is. Their normal single releases only have a couple of pounds difference between DVD and Blu-ray, whereas this is over twice the price.

The AE version of Come and See is much crisper than the old Kino version I had (virtually anything would be an improvement over the Kino). But the color still seems faded with a slight yellowish hue...I suspect that is intentional, but I have nothing substantive to base that on.

Isn't Kino working on a Blu-ray?

Yep. The old sovcolor prints used to look like that. Beautiful.

Sheesh, this is the third or fourth push back on this since I pre-ordered it in May of 2011.

Avoid "The Eel" DVD!

Non-anamorphic widescreen, NTSC to PAL transfer, shorter cut, no extras, what's the point of this release?

There is no point. And I just sold my Korean disc with anamorphic picture.

Amazingly disappointing! I wonder what the Mizoguchi Collection will look like, hopefully we'll get some advance reviews soon.

The Australian DVD still seems to be the most satisfactory subbed release of Eel. I was quite pleased by it.

It looks like I'll be going Australian after all this waiting. What's going on over there? This and the Angelopoulos set have been my biggest disappointments with AE lately.

I don't know why I didn't notice it before, but on the UK disc of "Antichrist", it doesn't say Artificial Eye anywhere on the package or disc. It is an AE release, isn't it? Why doesn't it say so?

Great news about the Sokurov. I wonder if the version of The Second Circle will be the shorter director's cut (with five minutes of trims for pacing reasons) that Kino released on DVD in region 1?

Artificial Eye would never release a shorter version of a film

AE certainly seem to be turning things up a notch in 2012. Mizoguchi, Bergman, Sokurov ...Would it be greedy to ask for Tarkovsky Blus?

Solaris, Stalker, Ivan's Childhood and Mirror appear to be getting separate releases in August. (DVD only)

A review of the Mizoguchi Collection (dvd) that fails to mention anything about the discs themselves (transfer, packaging etc).

They may not have been sent final discs - believe it or not, I sometimes get timecoded interlaced DVD-Rs on my Sight & Sound review plate. I usually try to get these replaced, but it's not always possible if deadlines and release schedules don't coincide.
