I think they may have screwed themselves with this pic, in the right hand corner you can clearly see their phone number....
but what would the "tape" be?

It's a publicly listed number.

Probably a digibeta or HDCAM master.

People on Facebook are saying it's either Part 1 of The Decalogue or Wall Street.

EDIT: One person suggested that it's The Game, and given the 2.35:1 ratio, that's a good possibilty.

I thought the Decalogue was all academy ratio. But the lighting/color does look closer to Kieslowski than Stone's film.

I've seen Wall Street my share of times, I honestly doubt that's what it is. The Decalogue sounds more likely.

This isn't the first time they've posted a cropped grab as a teaser.

It is, but Criterion crops these pics all the time.

It's definitely not the first episode of Decalogue that they are talking about on Facebook. The indoor scenes were in a tiny apartment, no people in white shirts and only one computer...

Looks very 'documentary' to me...

The full picture on Facebook shows that it's in the 2.35:1 ratio, which rules out The Decalogue, Wall Street, Office Space, and After Hours.

Yeah, I just put in Decalogue to double check. That ain't it.

The image is almost exactly 1.78:1, but again, that doesn't mean much because Criterion crops and zooms these hints all the time.

Full picture where? The picture on Facebook is 1280x720px which is a standard 16:9 resolution.

I thought the Game too, but scanned it on Netflix streaming and alas it is not...

Sony. And of course they license anything to anyone willing to take it.
