Terrific review for Swamp Water.

Indeed - I'm ordering the title based on that review!

Yeah - I just forked out over 80 bucks for this and Pal Joey with postage. The postal charges from amazon trader are huge!

David, have you not seen Swamp Water, or was it the caps that got you excited? You're in for a real treat either way!

No, I've had the Oz Fox DVD for years (which was the first one released, the quality on it was blah, in fact I put caps up which are probably still at the top of the caps thread.)

The caps at BluRay.com look outstanding - they are totally unlike the pasty analogue-y image from the Oz DVD.

I just don't like being gouged 92 bucks (that's 100 US) for two titles and postage. But I have to have every Renoir in Blu.

According to Facebook, this is what's coming in the upcoming months. I'm really disappointed with AS GOOD AS IT GETS - the film that won a bunch of Oscars 15 years ago should be released in a mainline, not by a niche studio.

DESIREE (1954) BLU-RAY - April 10th
BELL, BOOK & CANDLE (1958) BLU-RAY - April 10th
JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH (1959) BLU-RAY - May 8th
THE BIG HEAT (1953) BLU-RAY - May 8th
John Steinbeck's THE WAYWARD BUS (1957) BLU-RAY - June 12th
AS GOOD AS IT GETS (1997) BLU-RAY - June 12th

Tashlin's worst film, Bachelor Flat, is now also on Twilight Time's list

Ashirg, I could not find the $10 off Twilight Time coupon. In case it is still available, can you give more details? Thanks

Once you have it in your hand, you will forget about the 50 bucks you spent on it. It looks really good! The movie just feels "right" to me in so many ways. I can't put my finger on it. I am not really a huge fan of Renoir, but this one really gets to me. There is also a (small) booklet which talks a little about the production of the film that I found interesting.

I really can't wait for The Big Heat in May. I have 40 bucks already earmarked for it.

Big Heat was also promised for 2012 from Gaumont Blu Ray in France. I am guessing the two editions will be from entirely different masters so it's worth waiting to compare. Either way French postal rates are as horrendous as Twilight Time to Oz.

Motherfuckers!!

Oh wow, I didn't realize. I am torn though because I feel like importing the Big Heat is going to cost an arm and a leg. Importing stuff from France is much more difficult than importing from the UK.

Yeah, BB&C was pretty much already a must for me, but that cover is a deal clincher.

See, Criterion? Remember? That is what great cover art looks like.

Covers aside, Desiree's still probably the most exciting Twilight Time future title for me, though that could all change once I actually get to see it haha

Yeah, and here I was thinking I could just keep to the Novak set. These guys are getting too good.

I've waded through my first purchase $140 for 4 Blu-ray's! Very pleased with Twilight Time. My only complaint is the transfer for Demetrius and the Gladiators. Not worth the $35 but a pleasant film for the Delmer Daves completist.

I hate that 'Big Heat' cover. It's ham-handedly "noirish" in a way that isn't true to the spirit of the film. It reminds me of those neo-rockabilly guys sporting 3-foot pompadours and about a gazillion tattoos. Taste just doesn't enter the equation. If the title didn't occupy 1/4th of the entire cover space it would help.

He's obviously just miffed the dame made the cover instead of him.
