The fact the trailer's coming out this soon before the release date is telling me that Fox isn't too crazy about it either.

And to think I had (a little) hope for James Wan after seeing Dead Silence. That film actually had some atmosphere and suspense (and not the "is he really going to saw off his own hand" kind), even if it wasn't a total success - and his complete ripping off of "The Drop of Water" segment of Black Sabbath in that film at least shows he has a little taste - but I guess after the failure of Dead Silence he's given up on trying to do anything interesting or halfway decent.

Looks like the Punisher (with a bit of Straw Dogs thrown in for good measure).
Why is it, tho', that in these movies about a kid being killed senselessly as a catalyst for the action, said kid always has to be the 'all American dream' kind: sports hero, model student, loved and respected by his parents, teachers, ect. The death of an average or mediocre kid isn't tragic enough?
