Harper's is continuing their recent pleasant trend of film articles this month with a brief transcription of a conversation between Eisenstein and Stalin just before the making of Ivan The Terrible Part II. Stalin lets Eisenstein know what he thought the first film's "shortcomings" were but insists he is not giving the filmmaker instructions on how to shape the character for the second film.
