It is housed in the spectacular Mole Antonelliana, a steel spiralling ramp (rather like a larger Guggenheim NYC) forming the exhibition space as it winds upwards in the cathedral like interior of the world's tallest museum...
Lots of fascinating stuff, photo enlargements, video clips, original posters, rare archival documents, beautifully and comprehensively presented, much of which is reproduced in the bilingual catalogue published by Silvana Editoriale - a great visual resource...
Amongst the really interesting stuff, archival documents on the script structure and filming logistics of Visconti's LA TERRA TREMA (including an original diagram showing the choreography of the fishing boats in the bay at Aci Trezza), and a sequence of 9 stills from an excised scene from De Santis' RISO AMARO where Silvana Mangano and the other rice weeders bathe in a stream in various states of undress... Ultimately it seems De Santis opted for suggestion rather than showing in his final cut...
