Richard Stanley's film of H.P. Lovecraft's Color Out of Space, which looks pretty great!

Cannes comp entry Corneliu Porumboiu's The Whistlers (La Gomera)

I loved this. For those looking for a twisty - double cross over twist over surprise film, move over Knives Out and get a load of this. Nicely done.

Fun fact: Most people at my NYFF screening had difficulty following the plot. It does get hilariously convoluted.

Radcliffe's character probably is on ketamine and the movie is revealed to be "all dream" in his imagination/K-hole. It seems like that kind of movie.

Not that David Ayer’s filmography is known for its quality, but I’m intrigued by the freakshow nature of this trailer. George Lopez as a cop and Shia LeBeouf pretending to be Mexican-American gives me the impression it will be a special trainwreck. The aesthetics of Ayer’s films are also forever stuck in 2004. It’s like a pair of True Religion jeans became a movie.

Gaspar Noe's Lux Æterna. Do not watch this if you are sensitive to flashing lights.

I'm not a Noe fan, but the synopsis reads like a Matías Piñeiro meta-film with Charlotte Gainsbourg instead of the array of Argentinian theatre actresses (eg. María Villar, Elisa Carricajo, Laura Paredes) albeit much darker and (likely obnoxiously) deranged. I'm more curious than usual, yet still don't have anything but low expectations.
