It just got fixed, it wasn’t working when we were posting. But Phantom Lady isn’t on sale regardless, so I’m sitting this one out

I was happy with my Shout Matinee upgrade, but if you’re not a super fan you’ll prob be fine. There’s all the Arrow on disc extras plus a new interview with Dante, some crew interviews, and Lisa Jakoub

Maybe you already have some of these, but this is a great time to pick up the early Assayas set, Ismael's Ghosts, or A Gentle Creature

I already paid full retail on Ismael (well, minus VAT) like a sucker. May spring for Born Yesterday and pick up some fillers, so I’ll keep the others in mind

As hearthesilence pointed out, orders of two are actually ideal for saving on shipping costs.

It's kind of crazy that Arrow devalues their product so much, so quickly, and so often. I already mentioned it but The Love of a Woman is 80% off RRP less than two years after coming out!

I was going to ask, I’m on the site now and everything looks full price?
I think it times out. I was slowly adding things over the course of an hour, and once it timed out, none of the items added unter my account login time remained. When I logged back in, only the account ones were there.

I knew nothing of this film, but I did a quick search thanks to your earlier post, and it certainly sounds like something any Grémillon fan should own. I think David Hare has pointed out that the feature length documentary included as a bonus is worth having alone.

They have changed shipping pricing structure for Europe, now you can only get 2 films for 1.85 shipped from the previous 4. But if you order any number between 3-12, it is only 5.50. If you want even a single boxset it costs 5.50, but you can add another boxset and two more regular titles on this order for no extra charge. If you don't need that many titles but still want to maximize savings, you can get two boxsets and 9 films for 9.50 shipped, I think this is the price they charge for less than 2 kilos weight (but you can get an extra 5 films shipped for only 1.50 more if you split the orders like I explained above). I guess for the UK this could work in a similar way, but albeit at a cheaper cost for every weight threshold option kicking in.

Snagged The Bird With the Crystal Plumage, Obsession (I didn't like De Palma's Sisters at first but grew to like it after a rewatch), What Have You Done to Solange?, and Shivers; it was 7.5 for shipment to the United States. I'm still deciding between the VCI and Arrow editions of Blood and Black Lace.

I haven't seen it in a while, but it's possible it's my favorite Dante film. I found some reviews with more in-depth details on the Shout extras, and they sound REALLY good. The fact that many of them run for so long (i.e. not just a few minutes) says a lot, so I decided to hold off.

I am in France and they are currently charging 5.50 for a single film.

It was a mistake that they have now corrected. Back to 1.85 for 2 "normal" films.

I received an email noting that the sale has been extended a week, to Tuesday Apr. 30:
"As you may know, last week we had a number of issues with our site so we have decided to extend our members-only Easter sale until midday BST 30th April as an apology for the inconvenience."

Thank you, perkizitore! This prompted me to explore the breaks for shipping to USA, as well as considering the premium charge for tracking. In the past, I've followed the previous forum advice about purchasing in groups of 2 or 4 to reduce shipping costs. This is my first time buying from the new storefront, but below is what I found by iterating the shopping basket quantities:
I started with Rohmer's box set: std shipping is £7.50 (<1kg) and tracked shipping is £10.50 (<0.5kg).
Adding individual discs, shipping prices between standard and tracked converge (and weight breaks are tighter) as quantities and weight increase ...
+2 to 6 discs, std £7.50, tracked £12 (<1kg for both shipping methods)
+7 to 9 discs, std £9, tracked £13 (<1.25kg for both)
+10 to 11 discs, std £10.50, tracked £13 (<1.5kg for both)
+12 to 13 discs, std £12 (<1.75kg), tracked £14 (<2kg)
+14 discs, std £13, tracked £14 (<2kg for both)

So if you are game to buy more, it becomes more economical to ship all together (and even pay the premium for tracking), rather than break into smaller shipments (as the previous store seemed to incentivize).

Climax shows as "limited availability" on the Arrow webstore. Is the first printing almost sold out already?

It's often that a new release goes straight from Pre-order to Limited availability while there is no indication the first pressing might be sold out already. It probably has to do with how big Arrow's own allocation is, and I guess there is a simple trigger below which it automatically shows as Limited Availability. I've also seen some products going from this back to In Stock, which is why this guess seems plausible.

With all this talk of disappearing booklets, I went ahead and paid more than I wanted to for Phantom Lady and the Big Clock to secure ‘em. I think Arrow needs more transparency about how many copies are printed with a booklet per territory, because hearing stories of releases from this year already being available without booklets is alarming. How hard could it be to just say, “Hey, first pressing is all gone now,” when they start pressing the copies sans booklets?

Or at least they should advertise it when copies with booklets are running low

They should update the cover art to reflect this as well. My recently-acquired copy of What Have You Done to Solange? contained a booklet without any mention of it being included, while Obsession listed it as a bonus feature despite its absence!

Arrow stopped advertising the inclusion of a booklet in their standard releases around april 2016. Obsession's re-release predates this (nov 2013), but still, it should indeed have been updated this way around at least.

Does anybody know why Amazon.co.uk currently has the latest Arrow releases at such high prices ? Born Yesterday is over £20 and The Fifth Cord and The Possessed at £19.93.
I have had this sneaking suspicion recently that Arrow is trying to divert more and more buyers to shop direct from their online store. Also, I have noticed that during their Arrow Sales, the items on sale in their website are suddenly spiked in price on Amazon UK. For older editions the pricing on Amazon is still great, but definitely hard to order the new releases lately.

And as I noted/discovered here the prices on Arrow's site have also gone up.

A few precisions / thoughts :
- they resumed Early Bird prices on their webstore, with titles down to £15 or even £12.5 for a limited period. Providing you're willing to pre-order in advance there (I would if I weren't moving in a few weeks), that's not a bad deal.
- some titles are cheaper on Amazon. Not £14.99 sadly, but £16.98.
- I also seem to recall the prices on their webstore were increased to £18 way before the price hike on Amazon, which rather seemed related to HMV closing their website.

However, the result is the same : it indeed doesn't incent to buy their more recent releases. I actually waited their recent sales to buy the 2 Joseph H Lewis (£10 each) and am most certainly going to do the same for most of their other recent releases.

For UK folk, this will surely be the cheapest way to pick up the few USA exclusives Arrow have released so far (especially since Diabolik are customs friendly). To name a few of the more recent ones:

Basket Case
Torso
What Have They Done To Your Daughters?
Strip Nude For Your Killer
Re-Animator
Keoma

And Sister Street Fighter if you want it uncensored.

I can confirm that I did this a little while back and picked up the Arrow edition of Strip Nude For Your Killer, which I threw in when having to resort to Diabolik to pick up the latest couple of titles in the Nikkatsu Roman Porno line which don't seem to be available through Amazon.com at all. No issues to report with ordering from Diabolik at all and everything arrived in great condition.
