Hilarious. Discs 3 and 4 certainly couldn't have been condensed...less than an hour each. But I'm sure they'll go hogwild on packaging, probably housed in a scale but functional model of Stuntman's car.

Wow, this will cost $300. I wish I could afford some of these awesome R2 sets.

Actually this is going for about 7382 yen ($70 or so) at Amazon.co.jp (rrp around $100).

Sounds expensive I know but that's quite reasonable pricing for a Japanese DVD - about the same as most other 2-3 disc box sets. They often charge per disc so you'd expect to pay twice as much!

Although as someone else pointed out, you could probably fit it all on 3 discs.

That actually isn't bad. Hopefully an R1 edition of the whole original feature will show up or at least be announced before this is released, since I already have the individual releases.

Got this last week in a Disk Union shop in Tokyo while looking for some old soft machine records..Strangely enough it was supposed to come out on saturday but I found it second hand on thursday for 6000 Yen,which is not too bad considering how expensive japanese discs usually are.
The new extras are mostly culled from press conferences and many people would probably be familiar with the majority of the interviews.
Still, there is quite a bit of b-roll footage from both films and the fake trailers which is quite interesting.
Not an ultimate edition by any means, but the packaging is really nice and the full grindhouse experience is much more interesting of course.
If you find it relatively cheap I'd definetely reccomend it.

Where's the most english-friendly place to order this?
I could probably work my way through amazon.co.jp, is that likely to be the best deal online? I can't find it on yesasia.

Totally agreed that Discs 3 and 4 could have been consolidated.
