I've owned Fox's DVD of The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie since its release in 2003 or '04, but I only just realized the other day that, according to the back of the cover, the film was directed by Robert Neame.

That's nothing. My copy of the Jayne Mansfield beach comedy The Fat Spy says it was directed by Keoma's Enzo G. Castellari.

These typos, mispellings and flat out wrong names predate home video. I recall back in 1978 when we received the small bulletin board sized adverts from Films, Inc to publicize the campus film screening of Walter Hill's THE DRIVER. Although using the same poster art as the theatrical run the text credited the direction to Arthur Hill.

Surprised that the DVD for The Ghost and Mrs. Muir hasn't gotten a mention yet. It claims on the bottom to have been nominated in the 1942 Academy Award season.

Am I the only person who doesn't see anything, and just sees the word "Image"?

You gotta C+P the URL to see it, but it's worth the two seconds

Perhaps it is a misspelling for "Deafened a generation"?

I kind of like it.
It's suitably weird and they chose yellow for a film titled Deep Red.

Well after all, it is a giallo.

I think broadwayrock was referring to the sticker advertising the Blu on the DVD-only version.

The "STEP INTO THE CULT ARENA!" tagline for this Arrowdome line is pretty horrible, but it's squarely in the UK tradition of belittling Argento's films (and other genre films) as cult trash.

I remember a while back, there was a discussion about studios using original poster art for DVD covers, and I made a remark about how lousy UA poster art was in the 1950's. This is the original poster art, so I think this proves the fan adage that "original poster art is always best" is wrong.

Don't let peerpee hear you say that!

I do wonder if there is some sly meta-comment about the way that a woman is often sidelined in a western, only able to be present in the form of a framed photograph? Perhaps that is giving an otherwise god-awful cover too much credit though.
