If that is a genuine release it looks like a Thor/Loki slash fiction version.

Nothing wrong with the image on this one (though this still works better in landscape format), but I find the

___ANNO
YING.

Edit: had to add underscores because the forum couldn't handle the annoyance.

So, they had Christopher Wool for an art director.

The title and her pose also makes it look like she's riding the bike in reverse.
I thought Barbara was a pretty good film.
Think I wrote something about it in some thread -- will add a link if I find it.

So the title is in large type, divided over two lines.

That Thor poster is actually fan-made and was put up by the theatre by mistake. Definitely would have gone to this gay version of the film though!

I love how it says 'bona' at the top.

I wonder if that's supposed to be Polari or a reference to what Thor has in his codpiece.

Yes, as I explained when I posted the image, just after explaining that the cover was otherwise inoffensive. Your point?

I didn't see anything really ugly or unusual about that kind of typography and thought, per the post of yours I quoted below that sentence, that the idea was to get back to posting genuine eyesores and ridiculous Photoshop disasters. I just meant it as good-natured teasing.

Actually, the cover I saw today was worse, but this isn't winning any prizes.

And while looking for the awful French edition cover, I stumbled upon this oddity:
Image

It's a 2-fer, so those are two covers combined. Though at first glance i thought they were referring to a mixed race baby as a checkerboard.

I'm undecided which is worse, the top half for the Black Baby film, or the bottom for Checkerboard.

I also spotted a pretty odd Virgin Spring Blu Ray cover today, but haven't been able to locate it yet. Maybe a European edition(?)

If you want to have a peek at "My Baby Is Black!", here's a Cinema Snob video on it.

I'm glad they included three different ways to not watch that film

You say that as if you weren't the parent of a four year old boy obsessed with Scooby Doo. Sadly, I can't say the same. Once he sees this in the stores, I'm done for.

Fritz Lang's Clash by Night seems to inspire crappy covers:

which is actually better than this one that I picked up:

Though at least the latter atrocity gets the relationships right.
The first cover intimates a clash between Stanwyck and Monroe, however in the film they get along well and are allies.

The upside of course is anything he's unwilling to eat you just represent as a Scooby Snack.

I've tried that, Lemmy. He's too damn smart to fall for it.

This is a great video talking about why movie posters (and later DVD covers) have been atrocious for the past decade and it gives great examples on how lazily they are being produced.
