Fox is releasing a Gary Cooper boxset on May 22 (from the Goldwyn library via MGM/Sony): THE REAL GLORY, THE WINNING OF BARBARA WORTH, VERA CRUZ, THE COWBOY AND THE LADY).

Ball of Fire is being released by MGM/Fox on 5/22. List price is 19.98, so maybe with extras. 2 other Gary Cooper titles released on that day with that price are Casanova Brown and The Wedding Night.

I find it surprising that The Westerner isn't being released on 5/22 also... I remember MGM announced it, but cancelled the release. Fox now has the rights, and it seems the perfect release with this Cooper set and the individual Cooper releases.

I was extremely disappointed when they didn't announce it, as it's a pretty big title.

What's the deal, Fox?

Why was this topic moved from the Fox forum?

I've now checked with several sources--all list MGM/20th century Fox as the distributor.

Yeah, a waste of a move. Who cares who the original producer was, it's who the distributer is. Such as Criterion.
