These are the sorts of covers people want posted in here, it has to literally be something printed on a laserjet for sale in a Chinatown marketplace to qualify as a truly bad cover

I believe this is in reference to a meme created when the Babadook was accidentally put into the LGBT section on Netflix by mistake and has since developed a cult following in the gay community because of it. Here's an article from The Guardian about it. Shout knows exactly what they're doing. This is absolutely not in any way a mistake.

Ha! I hadn't heard of that meme, but then I never hear about any of them until two months later. I thought it was strange that this is the only movie Shout! designed a special "Pride" cover for, even though they have a number of legit LGBT movies.

I mean, very glad that KL is releasing this, but they swapped out a perfectly fine poster for this vaporwave collage monstrosity?

To be fair, the only poster that really gets Marienbad right is this polish poster.

Wow! I always love Polish posters, but that one's particularly great.

I'm just glad they managed to squeeze in Attack of the 50 Foot Woman as a bonus feature.

This Marienbad cover is hilarious in its own way, but I fail to understand what '84 was aiming for with the Sin City cover. Appealing to Critters fans ?

Obviously on a technical level this isn't bad, but it's way too busy and for some reason the focal point of all of the film's copious iconography is... a severed finger??

I’m unfamiliar with the film. Is that Gene Shalit with a switchblade?

The illustrator gave the lizard guy two left hands and no one caught it...among other problems!

The lizard guy appears to actually be holding somebody else's severed hand.

Yes the severed hand is an aspect of that scene, so that's fine. Its picking up all of the 'iconic' moments of the film but it does make the cover look very busy. And one element spoils a major plot point:
SpoilerShow
If the magician's assistant looks a bit like a man in a dress, then well, that's because it is.

Same. Considering how much I've been roasted by OP for posting good or mediocre covers in here, I feel vindicated!

Mea culpa. That's what can happen when I look at an overly busy cover on a cell phone screen, I guess.

It's a 1980 slasher movie where the gimmick is that the killer takes the mask of whoever he kills during a New Year's party on a train, thus at one point he has a Groucho Marx mask that, yes, kinda looks like Gene Shalit.
