Mitchum and Washington sets are up for pre-order at Amazon. It's DVD only releases. (and the article didn't indicate that these will be on blu)

From the Bits:
Also today, we've learned from industry sources that 20th Century Fox (and MGM) is getting ready to release Cleopatra (in the U.S. - it's already available internationally), The Great Escape, How Green Was My Valley, Laura, Fantastic Voyage, Von Ryan's Express and Hello Dolly on Blu-ray in 2013. Our sources also say that the original Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure is coming in November. Don't forget we've also recently reported that the remastered Patton is due out from Fox before the end of the year as well.

Wow, all the ones I'm interested in are in volume 2. How handy.

If only Panic in the Streets was swapped with Man on a Tightrope so I could say the same

I think this is the first video release of Wild River, correct? Great news, that and Panic in the Streets are probably the two Kazan titles I've wanted most on Blu-Ray.

It was previously in that huge set. I'm not much for double dipping, but if these sets go cheap I'll jump.

I always hate it when sets like these are released and they put one of the earliest films in the second box, thus meaning you have to buy both up front in order to go through them in chronological order.

Some Fox home video exec is laughing diabolically with a cigar in his mouth.

Excellent news. VIVA ZAPATA! in particular should be a phenomenal watch in 1080p.

Can somebody explain why 'selected by Martin Scorsese' is on these sets though? Isn't it more selected by which titles Fox has the right to distribute...

Scorsese will sell more units than Kazan or Fox ever could.

I hope they do a decent packaging this time, and not that cheap thing they did for the Marilyn Monroe set.

I wonder if anyone knows why amazon does not currently sell "The Forever Marylin Blu-Ray Collection". The following message appears on the Collection's webpage:

"Item Under Review
While this item is available from other marketplace sellers on this page, it is not currently offered by Amazon.com because customers have told us there may be something wrong with our inventory of the item, the way we are shipping it, or the way it's described here. (Thanks for the tip!)
We're working to fix the problem as quickly as possible."

I own a copy and have not noticed any particular problem (of course, apart from the horrible packaging and artwork).

Any idea?

Sounds like they've had an excessive amount of returns initiated for the product so they're investigating whether or not their existent stock is faulty

Horrible packaging complaints (people opting for the individual releases instead), or Amazon's predilection for shipping things in bubble bags and the resultant damage upon arrival. Or some other type of damage to it beforehand, something like somebody cut open a box or two of them in the warehouse with a knife and ended up cutting their spines while doing so... (my Mel Brooks set has that "feature").

It looks like the sets are Fox Connect exclusives for the time being. Some Blu-ray.com members have received or had theirs shipped already.

New Patton BD looks like what the original release should have looked in the first place.

It's addressed...
I'll cut my fellow reviewer Marty Liebman some slack regarding his glowing assessment of the original 2008 release of Patton. Back then, we were all in awe of seeing our favorite classics in high definition for the first time, and perhaps more willing to overlook some blatant picture quality issues.
