Nelson Sullivan

Didn't know where else to post this, but I just wanted to share the work of Nelson Sullivan, the videographer from 1983 to 1989. He basically went everywhere with a VHS camcorder in hand while living in downtown Manhattan. He was gay, and frequented The Pyramid Club, was best friends with RuPaul (you watch his rise to fame through Sullivan's footage), and even was close to Holly Woodlawn, Sylvia Miles, and was attracted to outcasts in a time when they were pushing against adversity. It's also distinctly original; the way he approaches his work. You could even argue, at certain points, that he was the original "v-logger".

Here's an example of his work:

There's 1,200 hours worth of footage.

I really think this is something Criterion should maybe look into. This is a goldmine in need of distribution and further preservation.
