Please don't tease me with the possibility of a Blu reissue of the Criterion Straw Dogs. Please.Cronenfly wrote:A Man Escaped, Straw Dogs reissue/Blu, and one more movie prominently featuring handcuffs/incarceration (may well be O Brother Where Art Thou)?

Re: Criterion Newsletter (Part 2)
Could be Three Seasons, Three Seas, O Brother, lol etc.
Definitely more thought-provoking than what we got in the last issue, but it's a bit aggravating.

Might be just a sequence of events rather than 3 separate C's.

Could it be a Chaplin shorts collection? I'm not familiar enough with them to know if in one he gets caught in a bear trap, another he gets handcuffed, another he gets jailed...

I don't remember, is there a beartrap in L'argent? If so it could be a trio of their remaining unreleased Bressons...
Edit: I actually second Quatsi.....

If that's what it is, then I'll be more than satisfied. Been in talks for way too long.

Well played. Best clue since Lean-Coward, although gotten much quicker.azechiel wrote:It's the Qatsi Trilogy... three caught Cs.

The clue is so awesome, I'm just now feeling the letdown that I really don't care much about those films. Ah, well.

Is on the Waterfront (May, iirc) the only 2012 clue left unfulfilled, other than this one?

Re: Criterion Newsletter (Part 2)
I think the new one took so long because I assume most people haven't heard "Qatsi" pronounced out loud. This is my guess for December given the speed of the last few clues being announced. Still hoping for City Lights too though, would make a great New Years film.

Unless you've seen the film, in which case the drone has been pounded into your head with a Glass hammer.duck duck wrote:I think the new one took so long because I assume most people haven't heard "Qatsi" pronounced out loud.
